SAFE WORK PROCEDURE
DO NOT use this machine unless a teacher has instructed you on its safe use and
operation and has given permission.
Pre-Use Instructions:
1. Mount the oven within easy reach to prevent hot spills and also to prevent risk of muscle strains
and injury due to over extending your hands from reaching.
2. Keep the oven interior clean.
3. Follow manufacturer’s instructions for operating microwave oven. DO NOT block the vents on the
back or the side of the oven.
4. If you wear a pacemaker consult your doctor before working with or near a microwave.
5. Do not cook whole eggs, food in sealed containers, sealed plastic bags or food with non-porous
casing in a microwave oven. The pressure build up may break the casing and spill the contents or
severely damage the microwave.
6. Never leave the oven unattended as overcooking can cause a fire.
Operating Procedure:
1. Open the door
2. Place food product to be heated inside the oven, making sure it is covered.
3. Close the door.
4. Set microwave to required time by either using the quick minute or the power level settings.
5. Press start.
6. Once finished, open the door and remove food product. The food will be hot. Oven mitts may be
required.
7. Close the door.

Clean Up:
1. Using a sanitizing solution thoroughly wipe the inside and the outside of the microwave ensuring all
food residue is removed. If you are using a sanitizing solution other than a mild dish detergent,
check the Material Safety Data Sheet for the product you will be using and don appropriate
personal protective equipment (safety glasses and gloves).
2. If required remove the roller ring beneath the glass plate and wash in mild soapy water.
