SFU plans to offer a Doctoral Programme in Psychotherapy Science starting 2006.
Course Aims
The aim of the Doctoral Course is to ensure that students acquire the range of research competencies and knowledge of their subject area essential for successful completion.
The Doctoral Programme combines qualitative and quantitative research with an emphasis on qualitative data analysis. Candidates will gain supervised research experience in the methodologies they are most interested in.
Course Duration a minimum of 4 semesters
Admission Requirements
• a Master’s level qualification
• completed psychotherapy training or extensive knowledge in psychotherapy
• presentation of a satisfactory dissertation proposal to the Doctoral Programme Committee
Course Description
Candidates acquire and cultivate research skills through intensive empirical and theoretical work in psychotherapy science. They will conduct qualitative and quantitative data analyses in research areas of personal interest or within the scope of wider research projects.
