JSU McClellan Center 100 Gamecock Drive Anniston, AL 36205 (256) 782-5918 Email: Coned.Help@jsu.edu Instructor Guidelines Thank you! We are pleased that you have joined our Continuing Education “family” of instructors. You are a valued and important part of our program. Our main purpose is to ensure that courses of the highest caliber are offered. Therefore, we consider our administrative duties for our instructors as essential. Our obligation is to select the best instructors and to give them the instructional resources necessary to make their course successful. The following guidelines are offered to help ensure your instructional experience has a rewarding and positive outcome. Curriculum Vitae, Bio and Course Syllabi We are proud of our instructors and consider it a privilege to market their skills to our clients. Participants often inquire about an instructor, wanting to know his/her credentials or background. We request all instructors to send us a current résumé or CV and a biography (250 words or less) for our file. In addition, please forward a course syllabus or outline for our files. These documents should be forwarded electronically to the coordinator of your course. We often pull instructors’ bios for our marketing materials. Course syllabi or outlines are useful to our staff when answering questions from prospective clients. We publish our instructors’ biographies online and may be viewed during the registration process. If space permits, we also publish biographical information in our course catalogs. Qualifications All instructors must be qualified in the subject area. Your approval as an instructor may include review of credentials and experience, observation of presentation and style, and/or mutually informative interviews with the Director or Assistant Director, as well as the client, when contract training is involved. Evaluations Students will be asked to submit an evaluation of the course upon its completion. The evaluation process is imperative for continuous improvement of our program. Evaluations are reviewed by the Director and kept on file. We feel it is a valuable opportunity for both the Office of Continuing Education and the instructor to be aware of necessary improvements as well as areas in which we excel. There will be a form in your instructor’s packet that you will need to read and sign indicating that you have reviewed your students’ evaluations.
