(Yazaki), a leading supplier of vehicle power and data solutions to the automotive industry, today announced the retirement of president and CEO, George Perry, effective Dec. 31, 2009. In Jan. 2000, Yazaki named Perry executive vice president, and president of its Ford business unit. He was appointed president and COO in April 2001, becoming the first non-Asian president in Yazaki’s history. In September, 2002, Perry was appointed president and CEO and was made a member of the company’s Board of Directors. “George’s tenure at Yazaki saw the company through the most dynamic decade in automotive history,” said Max Yamashita, chairman of Yazaki North America. “His industry knowledge and experience helped Yazaki continue to grow as a strong, diverse and operationally sound company, and we wish him luck on his future endeavors.” Succeeding Perry is Dieter Ehrmanntraut, president and CEO of Yazaki Europe Limited (YEL). Ehrmanntraut has significant experience in the wiring harness industry and the related component business. He led the successful integration of Yazaki’s joint venture with Siemens Wiring Harness operations in Europe. Succeeding Ehrmanntraut is Volker Heuzeroth, chairman of YEL. Yazaki also announced the retirements of Bryan Jinnett, vice president of Operations and Quality, and Ferol Vernon, vice president of Component Manufacturing. Yazaki has accommodated the retirements of Jinnett and Vernon through restructuring rather than direct replacement.
