The paper covers field observations on parasites and predators of Lac from Gadchiroli
Lac cultivation is important livelihood activity for tribals of Vidarbha. Very few are however
aware about the parasites and predators of Kerria lacca.
This paper elaborates field
observations on these insects from Vidarbha region. Further the paper also throws light on
some wrong management practices by grower(farmer producing lac ),which leads to overall
decrease in the production of lac . The display will also include samples and field photograph
of these insects .
