G/TBT/N/THA/65 Unofficial Translation Notification of Ministry of Public Health (No.245) B.E.2544(2001) Labelling of Food Containing Aloe Whereas it is deemed expedient to revise the Notification of Ministry of Public Health on labelling of food containing aloe; By virtue of Sections 5 and 6(10) of the Food Act B.E.2522(1979) concerning the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand of Sections 29, 35, 48 and 50, the Minister of Public Health hereby issues a notification as follows: Clause 1 The Notification of Ministry of Public Health (No.160) B.E.2538(1995) Re : Labelling of Food Containing Aloe dated 17 February B.E.2538(1995) Clause 2 Food containing aloe shall conform to the Notification of the Ministry of Public Health regarding labelling and the notifications especially issued for such food. The label of food containing aloe shall bear additional following statements: “Should not be taken by children”, “Not medical food” and “Stop consumption when there appears abnormal symptoms”, in red letters of a size not smaller than 2 mm which must be clearly visible in a rectangular frame and the colour of the frame shall be in contrast with that of the label background. Clause 3 Licences for food labelling according to the Notification of Ministry of Public Health (No.160) B.E.2538(1995) concerning food containing aloe dated 17 February B.E.2538(1995) issued prior to the enforcement of this ministerial notification are still valid for not more than two years as from the effective date of this notification. Clause 4 Manufacturers, importers of food containing aloe who received licences prior to the enforcement of this ministerial notification must apply for food serial number within one year after this ministerial notification comes into force. Upon submitting the application, the existing labels can will be valid for not more than two years as from the effective date of this notification. Clause 5 This Notification shall come into force as from the day following the date of its publication in the Government Gazette. Given on (Signed) Minister of Public Health
