Pickup limits are typically set as a number of barrels or the equivalent 15 gallon plastic bags. The maximum limits for Hampstead residential refuse pickup at curbside are: ============================================================================== DWELLING TYPE REFUSE LIMITS Barrels or 30-gallon bags or 15-gallon bags Single family residential home 2 2 4 total Single-family residential home with in-law apt 3 3 6 , total Duplex homes 4 4 8 , total Condominium homes 2 2 4 , each Apartments of two units 3 3 6 , total Mobile.manufactured homes on common property 2 2 4 , each ============================================================================== Any apartment building of more than 4 units is required to provide a dumpster(s) for sanitary handling of refuse at the owner’s expense. For those occasions when the limit is to be exceeded, stickers may be purchased at the town hall and displayed on each bag over the limit allowed. The amount of recycling materials for residential pickup is not limited. New refuse limits were approved by the Board of Selectmen as a way to increase recycling.
