Both comfort and pleasure are functions of interior design. What are some ways to maintain an interest in interior design? No doubt by now you have developed a keen interest in interior design. You have probably become aware of a variety of publications, such as magazines and web sites devoted entirely to interior design. Throughout the course you met several people who work in the interior design field. Through these professionals you have become aware that most furniture stores employ design consultants and interior designers who are available to discuss interior design. You may have become aware of a number of television programs, such as Designer Guys, Trading Spaces, and The Painted House. These entertaining and informative programs are very popular. Viewers experience the designers’ decision-making processes in interior design and learn how to make changes in their living spaces. The Saskatchewan Interior Designers Association may also provide information and recommendations about the interior design process. Many newspapers carry articles about interior design. Of course, just talking to neighbors and friends about interior design and home renovations also keeps up an interest and an awareness of interior design. Sharing ideas about how we design our living spaces is enriching and inspiring. Interior design is a creative process. Developing our skills in creativity is important in all areas of our lives, addressing both our primary needs and our secondary needs. Interior design is also fun! Is it important to be aware of the current trends in interior design? There are varying opinions on what is popular in interior design. We do not need to follow the latest trends to be stylish, but decorating trends do help to add excitement and creativity to interior designing.
