FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Visitors can share “warm” stories on redesigned FargoMoorhead Convention & Visitors Bureau website.
www.fargomoorhead.org is more user-friendly, content-rich and interactive.
FARGO, ND; July 15, 2008—Those who may have been skeptical when The FargoMoorhead Convention & Visitors Bureau (FMCVB) adopted the marketing theme FargoMoorhead: Always Warm can now view stories that illustrate why visitors describe
Fargo-Moorhead as one of the warmest metro areas in the nation. The organization’s
redesigned website, www.fargomoorhead.org, allows users to share their stories and
videos, view other experiences on the FM CVB’s YouTube channel and actively
participate in building a resource for a destination that is often overlooked or
misunderstood.
Actually, the site has been completely reengineered and updated with a new look and
new features, making information even easier to find. New enhancements include:
 Improved features with more options for event planners, available within 3 clicks
 All attractions, hotels, restaurants, meeting rooms and athletic venues can be
easily mapped with directions
 New sports facilities guide
 A new “Must See” listing which will change seasonally and as needed
 A scrolling front page photo gallery
 Media room for news releases about the CVB and the Fargo-Moorhead
destination
 Downloadable photo gallery
 Hotels, restaurants and attractions mapped for user convenience
 Link to companion YouTube site www.youtube.com/fargomoorheadcvb
The CVB kept its extensive calendar of events as well as the Deals & Discounts page,
where visitors can save money by regularly checking out new offers.
“The internet has undergone immense changes since our last major website
remodeling,” said Cole Carley, President of the FM CVB. “If the future of communication
continues to be the internet, our web presence has to be a major priority.”

“Our goal was to create a genuine, fresh and comprehensive resource – for travelers,
event or tour planners, and our residents – that showcases Fargo-Moorhead plus allows
visitors to generate their own content, to tell us about their experiences here,” stated
Brian Matson, who directed the website redesign as marketing manager for FMCVB.
“This site functions as a first impression about Fargo-Moorhead, and we want that
impression to be a real, honest perspective of this community.”
Initial reaction to the new website has exceeded Matson’s expectations. “The first
responses we’ve received have confirmed that we have succeeded in creating a
comprehensive and easy-to-use resource,” explained Matson. “Visitors are surprised by
the size and variety of our community. And the stories already posted confirm that our
‘always warm’ theme is not a slogan but a real reflection of what our visitors think about
Fargo-Moorhead.”
Many sections of the website now can be continuously updated and maintained by the
FMCVB staff, plus area residents and event organizers can also add listings to the
Restaurants, Things to Do and Calendar categories.
“The best ambassadors for our communities are those who have experienced our value,
variety and people,” adds Carley. “They consistently remember that we go above and
beyond people’s expectations. Now we’ve put the technology on our site to give our
visitors a way to share that experience.”
The Fargo-Moorhead Convention & Visitors Bureau is a non-profit organization that
promotes Fargo, North Dakota, and Moorhead, Minnesota, as a destination for visitors,
