Our company has become the premiere provider of mountain bike tours in Central Utah. Included in this report are some of our most popular bike trails. Bike Safety and Trail Etiquette Safety precautions include: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. Wear an adequate helmet. Keep bike in good mechanical condition. Carry sufficient drinking water. Carry a tire pump & patch kit. Dress for cool weather at higher elevations. Wear sunscreen to prevent sunburn. Bikes are legal vehicles and must follow traffic laws. Use common sense and be a defensive rider! Most of the trails are on Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management land which has some of the most scenic areas in the western United States. Help keep it beautiful. Don’t trespass private property or litter. Always yield to hikers, horse riders, vehicles, and other bikes. Never harass wild or tame animals. Beaver Mountain Trails Big John Flat—Kimberly Road. This is a 51 kilometer one-way bike trail. It climbs from 2440 meters to 3355 meters then drops to 1800 meters in elevation. The ride is a 5 to 7 hour trip. The trail winds through pines and aspens up past the timber line. Wildlife commonly seen in this area include elk, deer, and small wild animals. Puffer Lake Loop. This is a 13.5 kilometer loop that takes 2 to 4 hours. It starts by Big John Flat which is about 3050 meters. It then climbs up to City Creek Peak at 3200 meters and then drops down to Puffers Lake at about 3000 meters elevation. Puffers offers lots of good trout fishing. Indian Creek Out & Back. Drive north of Beaver 17 kilometers through Manderfield and then take the Indian Creek Road for about 8 kilometers to the Forest Service boundary to start your bike ride. The ride starts at an elevation of 2000 meters and climbs steadily to Indian Creek Reservoir at 2400 meters for a distance of 11 kilometers or 22 kilometers round trip. The trail follows the Indian Creek with a wide range of vegetation and a sparkling stream. Old mines can be found in the area so be careful. Kents Lake. This trail starts at the Copes Basin Campground in Beaver Canyon and climbs 530 meters in the 9 kilometer ride in to Kent’s Lake. This is a 2-3 hour ride where you can stop and picnic or fish at the lake. The ride back out is all down hill. This makes a nice beginner’s ride. Paiute ATV Trail This trail is a 325 kilometer loop over three mountain ranges and through rugged canyons and deserts that has been designed for recreational ATV riding. It is located in central Utah mostly on the Fishlake National Forest. There are numerous possible side trips leading to spectacular scenery, fishing opportunities, and picnic and camping sites. The parts of the trail that go through the Tushar Mountains also make excellent mountain bike trails. See map of the trail. Be careful and watch for ATV riders. Special Events Our Pioneer Day 10K family bike ride has become a favorite with the local communities every July 24th. It is a nice ride up into the foothills and back.
