The CHINA GROVE project is a collaboration of musical talent from two of the finest
bands in Texas. Both from San Antonio, these bands have combined to create an exciting
blend of Country, Rock and Americana Music for the Texas, US and World Music Scene.
Perfect Stranger and Rich Hall have come together to produce CHINA GROVE, and an
all Original CD called “Movin’ On”, soon to be released on the East and West Coasts.
The Title Track “It’s Still Goodbye”, written by Rich Hall, has already been released on
Internet Radio on the West Coast and is receiving rave reviews as one of the Top New
Songs to watch for 2012. CHINA GROVE has recently received several requests to
open for Headliners on the West Coast. Logistically, West Coast events are currently
beyond the reach of the band since they are based in San Antonio, Texas. CHINA
GROVE is looking to play any event close to home that has large crowds, ie. Festivals,
Chili Cook Offs, Concerts, etc., and the Band’s primary focus is writing, recording and
performing original Texas rock and roll. With a solid percussion foundation, lead and
background vocals from Jim Otte, impeccable guitar work, keys, bass, accordian, lead
and background vocals from Bonny C, and the all encompassing keys, bass, lead and
background vocals from Rich Hall, CHINA GROVE is gaining widespread acceptance.
Lately, the Band has been on a writing frenzy, ensuring that CHINA GROVE will be
pumping out hits for years to come.
BONNY C, songwriter and international recording artist, has been performing for sold
out crowds in California, Nevada, and Texas for 20+ years. Bonny with the band, Perfect
Stranger, just completed The Asia Tour to include Tokyo, Manila, and Macau. She has
written music for Crystal Gale, Jimmy Messina, Electra Asylum Records, Documentary
Film and TV, Book Promotions and Jingles for The United Way, Carl's Jr. and Taco Bell.
Based in her hometown San Antonio, Texas, she formed Perfect Stranger in 2005 with
husband Jim Otte. Her musical influences encompass the works of Fleetwood Mac, The
Beatles, Judy Collins, Juan Luis Guerra, Tina Turner, Selena, Maroon5 and Joni Mitchell.
JIM OTTE, songwriter, international recording artist, , stepped into the music scene 20+
years ago in Los Angeles, California, working college concerts and recording studios.
Since then he has performed in Nevada, California and also with Perfect Stranger in Asia.
He fashioned his drumming and singing style after such greats as Don Henley and Phil
Collins, percussionists Ginger Baker and Stewart Copeland; and studied the music of The
Beatles, Steely Dan, Tom Petty, The Band, Joe Walsh, U2, Jimi Hendrix and The Police.
RICH HALL, songwriter, international recording artist, and former band leader of
Trinity, has been a staple of Texas Rock and Roll for generations, touted as the Hall Of
Fame Band for the Chelsea Street Pub Circuit. His Power Trio performed for over 20
years, playing 15 States, from California to Florida, and over 100 cities including Maui,
Hawaii. Rich and Trinity have played all types of venues, including concerts, college
gigs, corporate events, country clubs and pubs. Musical influences include Bobby Blue,
Bland, Eric Clapton, Don Henley, The Eagles, and Steve Miller, Jimi Hendrix and
Santana.
With all this talent bubbling up from the rolling hills and flat plains of
the Lone Star State, China Grove’s unmistakable energy and sound is
making heads turn at venues in Texas and across the USA.
