Design and Environmental Standards
To Consider
As a means of guidance, below are some D&E Standards to consider:

5.02 (d) As necessary, homeowner will be asked to submit samples of exterior color and material
for proposed construction: doors and windows, brick, screening and retaining walls

6.14 exterior mechanical equipment may need to have screening (i.e. pools, hot tubs, air and
heat units) as long as the screening improves the appearance and does not create a detriment to
another’s view

6.03 Items not in keeping with the neighborhood – highly stylized or overstated eclectic design
elements

6.09 (h) Exterior Paint Colors …The color palette for homes will be limited to white or a muted
hue* so as to blend with the community. Extremely bright, offensive, or “jarring” colors will
not be allowed.
*A muted hue is a color that is mixed with gray or its complement color producing a tone of the
original color.

6.10, 7.21, 8.09 & 8.10 Wood Decks, Porches and Steps

6.11 Garages:

7.15 Walks and Terraces

7.16 Accessory Buildings

7.17 Fencing

7.18 Mailboxes

7.19 Lighting

7.20 Lawns and Plantings: Guidelines for minimum plant material sizes …

7.25 Satellite Dishes

8.11 Awnings or Sun Screens
