computation, geometry, and measurement.
Science: Exposure to rich science content in the context of
language and literacy activities and engaging, hands-on
exploration.
Centers: (Children Choice) Blocks, Sand/Water, Dramatic Play,
Book Area, Computer, Art/Easel Area, Puzzle and Manipulatives,
Writing, Science, Math Manipulatives. Conversations between and
among and with children. Alphabet knowledge, phonological
awareness, rapid automatic naming, concepts of print, writing
name, and phonological memory.
Options for classrooms that do not want to have open snack and
toileting during Center Time OR Classroom may extend Center
time if snack/toileting during Center Time.
Uses discussion questions from Let’s Talk About It to address
social-emotional issues and topics form Let’s Find Out About It
to address concept development.
Story Reading 1st reading focus on vocabulary, 2nd reading focus
on concepts of print, conversations with children & reinforce
vocabulary, 3rd reading words & phrases for chiming in &
discussion, 4th reading characters, sequence of story, discussions
about what if and/or references to classroom activities and similar
books.
