Examination Information GCE AS/A Level CAMBRIDGE INTERNATIONAL EXAMINATIONS (CIE) GCE AS/A Level EXAMINATIONS November 2014 Registration Deadline Registration for first time entries for GCE A and AS level exams for Nov 2014 session is open till 8th August 2014. Registration for retake entries is open from 13 August – 12 September 2014. Candidates/schools registering for the exam after this deadline are subject to pay late fees. Registered in England as a charity. Submission of Project / Course Work The deadline for submitting all project works is 10th October 2014. The question paper of A-level Art & Design will be available three weeks prior to the exam. This will be given to the respective art teachers only. Withdrawal If a candidate wishes to withdraw any subject after submitting the entries, he/she must submit a written application (on the school’s letter head in case of students from schools/college) to the British Council at least one month before the first examination of the session. No refunds will be given for the withdrawn subjects. Withdrawal/Refund on medical ground If a candidate falls sick and will not able to attend the examinations, the candidate must submit an application accompanied by valid medical certificates and a statement from a medical practitioner to the effect that the candidate was unable to sit the examination(s) not later than the first examinations date affected. In such circumstances the British Council shall refund full examination fees. Fess shall only be refunded after the British Council Nepal receives the Credit Notice from CIE which shall be after the exams. There shall be no refund of Practical and Arts fees in any circumstances. Examination Preparation Syllabuses for 2014 for the appropriate examinations are available at www.cie.org.uk . Limited past papers of previous exams are also available at the British Council. Private candidates can contact the Examinations Officer for the copies of those available. Distribution of Statement of Entry Statement of Entry will be distributed two weeks before the exam. Time-table Clashes Before completing the Entry Forms, candidates are advised to carefully consult the timetable. If a candidate has to cancel any subject due to a clash in the timetable, no refund will be given for the subject cancelled. There will be a provision for taking the clash subjects at the same time as per the rules and regulation set by CIE Examination Time Table The original exams time table sent by the CIE can be downloaded from our website. The final time table for only those subjects you are sitting and the venue for exams will be posted on the exam notice board two weeks before the exam. If you require a copy of the final timetable, please ask for it while collecting your statement of entry from the information counter. Registrations and Payments Private Candidates should forward the following documents to the British Council Customer Services for registrations: Complete Registration Form 3 Copies of recent passport size colour photograph without eye glasses and head covers Original and photocopy of ID (Passport or Citizenship Card). Original will be returned upon verification. A copy of payment receipt received from the Bank Counter in the British Council. Original and photocopy of past GCE certificates if applicable No Objection Letter from the school if applicable Failure to submit any of the above documents will result in incomplete registration and the entry will not be submitted to CIE. Schools should forward the following documents to the British Council Examinations Services for registrations: A list of all the students appearing in the exam session clarifying total number of A and AS level. Complete Registration for each candidate 3 Copies of recent passport size colour photograph without eye glasses and head covers for each candidate Verified photocopy of ID (Passport or Citizenship Card) for each candidate. Verification can only be done by the Head of the school or the A level co-ordinator. A copy of payment receipt received from the Bank Counter in the British Council Failure to submit any of the above documents will result in incomplete registration and the entry will not be submitted to CIE.
