All persons to be admissible as members of this Society on payment of five dollars ($5.00) annually.. The exhibitor will be charged an entry fee of 10% of the first prize money in each section of all classes in addition to the membership fee – except in “Special classes”. THE ENTRY FEE IS PAID AT THE TIME OF ENTRY TO THE SECRETARY. Light horse entry fee is $2.00/entry except stake classes, which is $10.00/entry. An exhibitor will be allowed a total of 10 entries free with the membership fee in Sections10 to 19 inclusive. Over 10 entries will be charged $ 0.25 each. Grains, seeds, roots and garden produce and fruit must have been grown on land occupied by the exhibitor and it must be their property. No more than two official premiums, other than champions or specials, shall be awarded to any one animal or article. The judges have it in their power to withhold any premium for any animal or article which they may consider unworthy of same, unless appealed: from as is hereinafter provided. The judge’s decision in all cases is final. All protests from the judge’s decision must be made in writing while the judge and exhibits are still on the grounds, and accompanied by the sum of $25.00. Should the protest be sustained the $25.00 will be returned to the protesting party. Otherwise, the money will become the property of the society. Parties openly objecting to a decision in any case shall forfeit claims to prizes they would otherwise have obtained. All articles mentioned in Classes 10 to 20 inclusive to be exhibited by the maker and shall not have been previously exhibited at Harding. All stock, etc. exhibited to be bona fide property of the exhibitor 30 days prior to the fair, unless in the case of firms, where they must be entered accordingly. The Harding Agricultural Society is registered with the Canadian Cattle Identification Agency. (CCIA) Cows shall have produced young at least within a year to the date of the fair, or be visibly in calf. Articles in the display buildings to be picked up at 5:00 pm. No persons allowed in the ring except judges and directors, and no person allowed to speak to the judges while on duty. No more than one prize will be given for different articles except livestock, under the same heading in the prize list, to any one person even though awarded in the case of only one exhibitor, no more than two prizes will be awarded in horses. Neither the Society nor any of the Officials hereof shall be responsible for loss or injury to the exhibits, though care will be taken to prevent such loss or damage. No exhibitor’s name shall appear on any animal or article exhibited until after it has been judged. This rule will be strictly observed. All entries mentioned in Classes 10 to 20 inclusive to be in the display buildings by 9:00 am. All stock to be on the grounds by 9:00 am.. All articles mentioned in Classes 10 to 20 inclusive will be judged in the morning, commencing at 9:30 a.m. Heavy horses, miniatures at 10:00 a.m. and cattle will be judged at 9:00 a.m. Light horses and ponies start at 9:00 a.m. Deadline for entries will be 10:00 p.m. the Wednesday before the fair. Double entry fee will be charged for entries in all classes made after the deadline. Exhibitors moving stock from the grounds before 6:00 pm will forfeit any prizes that they may have been awarded for the said article or stock. This rule will be strictly adhered to. The Harding Agricultural Society is a member of the Man/Sask circuit and the M.B.R.A. No articles or animals to compete unless entry has been made with the Secretary Exhibits, which may have been erroneously entered, may, at the discretion of the judge and director in charge, be transferred to the proper classes previous to judging. When respectfully requested to do so, the judges are expected to give reasons for their decisions, stating what constitutes points of excellence in the class of animals or articles being considered, and pointing out the superiority over the other articles being considered, and pointing out the superiority over the other. Bedding will be supplied. Should funds of the Society be insufficient to pay all awards, the Society reserves the right to withhold prize money sufficient to balance the receipt of the fair. No parking will be allowed in barn area of trucks and trailers. 6. Stallions must be registered, well mannered, and kept under control at all times. Stallions may not be exhibited by anyone under 18 yrs. of age. 7. No horse or pony shall be shown unless entry is made for each section in which it is entered. 8. If there are more than ten (10) horses or ponies in one class, a fifth prize shall be added. 9. A pony will be defined as 14.2 hands and under. A horse will be defined as over 14.2 hands except when breed standards of registered horses allows height under 14.2 hands. 10. Competition is open to all quilt exhibitors who have not won first prize in the Agricultural Societies’ Provincial Quilt Competition . 2. The judging criteria used for the judging is included in the “Judging Standards” book. 3. Quilts may be entered in three categories: Hand quilted; self-guided (domestic, long, and midarm; computer aided). The entry must becompletely quilted by the person submitting the quilt. No commercial quilting will be allowed (machine quilted by someone other than the exhibitor) 4. Quilts must have an appropriate title and give appropriate credit to pattern designer if not original. 5. Quilts must be at least 152 cm x 178 cm (60” x 70”) to be considered for the competition. 6. Quilt exhibitor must have a fabric quilt label attached to the bottom right corner on the backside of their quilt. .Labels must be covered at all judging levels. 7. Quilts must be delivered /packaged in a durable and labeled clear plastic bag for handling. 8. Pre-stamped and direct product of Quilt kits will not be accepted, however ‘Block-of-the-Month’ quilts, if not kitted, are eligible for the competition. 9. Quilters will sign a release form when the quilt is entered at the local event, giving the coordinating group permission to use picturesof the quilt and/or quilter in any type of promotional activity they deem appropriate. 10. A Score Sheet will be distributed to all societies, which must be used to judge the quilts. Any quilt not scoring 70 or more points will not qualify for the district or provincial competition. 11. Each society may select six quilts ( 2 hand quilted, 2 mid/long arm quilted, and 2 computer aided) at their fair to participate in the district competition. Up tosix quilts will be chosen at the district competition to go to the provincial competition. 12. Exhibitors may enter more than one quilt in their competition. However, they may only have one hand, one self-guided and one computer aided advance to the provincial finals. 13. Any quilt may be entered in competition at as many fairs as the exhibitor wishes. However, it may only represent the society where it was first entered in the provincial competition and won. The exhibitor must advise societies at the time of entry if the quilt is a winner at a previous fair. 14. If an exhibitor does not wish to participate in the provincial competition, the runner-up quilt with a score higher than 70 will be selected to represent the society in the district competition. 15. At the district level prize monies of $20.00 will be awarded for the top quilts in each category. At the provincial finals there will be prize monies available in the Hand Quilted, Self-Guided and //////computer Aided Categories. 16. All district winners will be displayed at the Red River Exhibition in June 2014 after which the quilts will be returned to the quilters 17. Quilt owners are responsible for insuring their own quilts.
