Greetings, Prospective 2011 Graduating Seniors!
And CONGRATULATIONS! Your special day is fast approaching, and we want to celebrate
with you! Our Liberty University Alpha Lambda Delta Officers and Advisors are planning a
very special "night to remember", honoring you, our ALD graduate. This is the correspondence I
promised to email you mid-March. You will receive an invitation banquet flyer by email next
week which will reiterate the specifics I will mention here:
Date of the Banquet: Saturday Evening, April 16, 2011
Time: 6:30pm - 9:00pm
Location: DeMoss Grand Lobby
Cost of Banquet Ticket to include Meal
 ALD Graduates: $5.00
 Guests: Price of meal as noted in menu below

The dress for the evening is semi-formal attire in accordance with the current Liberty University
Dress Policy. Dress slacks with neckties for gentlemen, but suits are optional.
RSVP by purchasing your ticket(s) on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at the table in the DeMoss
hallway next to the courtyard exit: 1:00pm – 5:00pm
Special Notes:
 If you plan to attend the banquet, you must purchase your banquet ticket. ALD Officers
will be selling tickets at a table located on first floor DeMoss in the hallway just before
you exit into the courtyard: 1:00pm – 5:00pm on Tuesday, March 29, 2011.
 If you are having guests attend, you must purchase their banquet tickets on Tuesday,
March 29th as well.
 March 29th will be the only opportunity for you to purchase your banquet tickets as
counts must be given to the caterer by April 1st.
ALD Honor Cords:
 You must pay for and order your ALD honor cord ($8.00) on March 29, 2011 as well.
Note the following:
1. If your Career GPA as of January, 2011, is 3.5 or greater and you are attending
the banquet, your honor cord is free; you must purchase only your banquet ticket
on March 29th, and you will receive your ALD honor cord free of charge at the
banquet.
2. If your Career GPA as of January, 2011, is 3.5 or greater and you are not
attending the banquet and would like an ALD honor cord, you must order your
honor cord ($8.00) on March 29th and we will notify you by email when and
where to pick it up.
3. If your Career GPA as of January, 2011, is less than 3.5 and you are attending the
banquet and would like an ALD honor cord, you must order it ($8.00) when you
purchase your banquet ticket on March 29th, and you will receive your honor cord
at the banquet.
4. If your Career GPA as of January, 2011, is less than 3.5 and you are not attending
the banquet and would like an ALD honor cord, you must order it ($8.00) on
March 29th and we will notify you by email when and where to pick it up.
A NOTE ABOUT HONOR CORDS: The ALD honor cord is different from the University’s
honor cord that students graduating with honors receive from the University. You may wear both
honor cords if you have earned them. If you are an ALD graduate, regardless of whether your
Career GPA fell below 3.5 after becoming a member, you are still authorized to wear the ALD
honor cord at graduation because…”Once a member,…always a member.” Any questions
concerning the University honor cords should be directed to the Registrar’s Office.
IF YOU ARE NOT CURRENTLY IN THE AREA BUT WILL BE PARTICIPATING IN
COMMENCEMENT/GRADUATION EXERCISES AND DESIRE TO PURCHASE AN ALD
HONOR CORD: Some have already emailed me to say they are walking May 2011 but are
either student teaching this semester, they finished their program of study this past August or
December, or they are Liberty Online student ALD members and want to order an ALD honor
cord. You may order your ALD honor cord ($8.00) by mail (if using check) or by email (if
using credit card). We must receive your order form by March 30, 2011 and will mail your honor
cord to you as soon as we receive the order. Please note we will place the honor cord order on
March 31st, and any order forms received after that may not arrive in time for graduation. Please
use the form at the bottom of this letter to place your order.
IF YOU ARE A MAY 2011 GRADUATE BUT YOU ARE NOT PARTICIPATING IN THE
COMMENCEMENT / GRADUATION EXERCISES AND DESIRE TO PURCHASE AN ALD
HONOR CORD, please order using the form at the bottom of this letter.



You may pay for banquet tickets and honor cords using cash, check (made payable to
Alpha Lambda Delta), or credit card ( American Express, Discover, Master Card, Visa) –
credit card payments must be made through Mrs. Grayson, ALD Administrative
Advisor. Officers at the table on March 29th will take your order and note “will pay by
credit card” and Mrs. Grayson will contact you by email on March 30th. We will take
your order but will not accept credit card information at the table on March 29th.
When purchasing banquet tickets and/or honor cords, please bring your LUID Card with
you.
If your graduation date is May 2011 and you are not planning to participate in any of the
graduation activities, you may still order your ALD honor cord using the form below and
we will mail your honor cord to you free of charge.
Your ALD officers are spending many hours planning an evening of honor and celebration for
you to enjoy and we look forward to spending it with you and your guests. Please mark the dates
in this letter on your calendar and remember that we must submit our final count to our caterers
on April 1st.
