1. Please make sure you are running form GUMAPPL.MMB/MMX from Gen54 or higher.
2. Go to form GUAUPRF and setup the Directory location for Data Extract Files
Find the entry
Description:
Enter the name of your Web Output URL
Default Value: http://yourserver.com/directory
User Value:
Enter your directory name for "User Value"
Example 6.x = http://rocoram1.sct.com:7778/pls/ban6/
Example 7.x = http://rocoram1.sct.com:7778/ban7/

Description:
Data Extract format: FILE(.csv), TEXT or WEBUTIL
Default Value: FILE
User Value: TEXT
FILE - Will save results in .csv file via browser window
TEXT - Will display results in browser window
WEBUTIL - will use Oracle WEBUTIl process - See FAQ #1-L5OZ5
For this test Enter "User Value" = TEXT

Save change and exit Banner and log back in.
Go to form GUAOBJS and query for object GJAPDEF
Make sure column Data Extract Option = Key and Data Block
Save changes and exit form GUAOBJS
Go to GJAPDEF form and query for GJRRPTS in key block and then next block
While in data block of GJAPDEF go to the menu HELP -- Extract Data with Key
9. A new web browser window should be opened with a URL like this
http://rocoram1.sct.com:7778/pls/ban6/gokoutp.P_Showreq?
pipe_name=ORA$PIPE$000C09EA0001&sess_id=10553&user_name=SAISUSR
Your data extract data should be displayed in the browser window.
If you have errors at this point review the URL in browser
and check the webserver error logs for any Oracle errors etc.
10. You can now save or print output via web browser window.

try to do extract data on that form you will get error

You can also see this error

If the GUROUTP or GUBOUTP tables are full. Please see
baseline script GDELOUTP.SQL for info on cleaning data from table.
You can debug the error by looking into web server log file for errors
related to GOKOUTP package and also in database alert.log files.

Special Note 3 - Data extract give "*ERROR* has errors" in forms status line
-------------If you can't get data extract / show document to work and
you just get "*ERROR* has errors" in forms status line:
- Check that baninst1.gokoutp is valid
- Check the public synonym gokoutp is valid and pointing to baninst1.gokoutp
- Check that it's owned by baninst1
- Check that there are no other copies of gokoutp owned by other schemas
- Check that execute on baninst1.gokoutp is granted to ban_default_m,
ban_default_q
and OAS DAD OWNER (ex - WWW_USER)

Important Notes
--------------- Defect 77674 - problem with embedded commas - fixed in defect posting

- General 5.5 added a feature in INB to save output directly to FILE via
new setting in GUAUPRF(See General 5.5 release Guide for more details)
- FAQ #13348 - Data Extract warning message *NOTE* Some of the data being
extracted contains embedded double quotes.
- FAQ #13347 - Data Extract warning message *NOTE* Data to be extracted exceeded
2000 characters and was truncated.

SCT delivers the extract feature on all validation forms. SCT also supports the
extract feature on a limited number of rule, application, and inquiry forms
where
the feature has been tested. This feature has been tested on the following

Your system administrator can use the Object Maintenance Form (GUAOBJS) to
enable the extract feature on any form where the extract has been tested.
Extract results are unpredictable on forms that have not been tested with this
feature. If you want to extract data on an untested form, your system
administrator
can consider enabling the extract feature on GUAOBJS. SCT does not support this
feature on untested forms. SCT will, however, continue to test more forms and
expand support with future releases.

Quick steps to test data extract in client/server Banner 6.x
------------------------------------------------------------1. Go to form GUAUPRF and click on button "Directory Options"
2. Find this value
Description : Client Server path to write data extract file (.csv)
Default Value: c:\temp
User Value
: c:\temp
Set the User value to some directory that exists on client machine (Example
c:\temp)
If you want to change the default value for all users you must login to
Banner as userid BASELINE

Save changes and exit GUAUPRF
Go to form GUAOBJS and query for object GJAPDEF
Make sure column Data Extract Option = Key and Data Block
Save changes and exit form GUAOBJS
Go to GJAPDEF form and query for GJRRPTS in key block and then next block
While in data block of GJAPDEF go to the menu HELP -- Extract Data with Key
You should get prompted with a dialog box stating:
"File C:\temp\GJAPDEF_GJBPDEF_08APR2002154619.csv
written. Extract complete"
10. Now open file C:\temp\GJAPDEF_GJBPDEF_08APR2002154619.csv in Windows.
A CSV file extension is a comma seperated text file that can be opened in
Excel
or any text editor etc.

Occasionally, a single user will encounter an error with Data Extract. This is most likely due to changed
setting on GUAUPRF. Check the user’s setting on GUAUPRF, under the Directory Options tab. If the row
with the description shown below has a user value other than the Default Value, try changing the user value
to the default (or just clear the user value so the system will use the default value) and then try to perform
the extract again. If the user is still getting extract errors, it may also be because they altered the web page
output location on the same tab. Review all user values on the Directory Options tab and ensure that they
match the defaults.
