Requirements for appointment
i) Certificate/Diploma in community nutrition, clinical nutrition or nutrition and

Duties and responsibilities
i) Implementing nutrition programmes
ii) Providing nutrition services in health care’s facilities
iii) Conducting nutrition assessment
iv) Collecting and compiling nutrition data

Duties and responsibilities
i) Preparing and implementing therapeutics diets for outpatient and inpatient

ii) Providing guidelines on therapeutics diets for existing and emerging diseases for
hospital use and home based care and other institution, treating and counseling
patients using specialized dietetics nutritionally modified products.
iii) Implementing the nutrition and dietetics process including screening.
iv) Assessing, formulating and implementing nutrition in health.
v) Providing nutrition support in patient management in health care facilities
vi) Developing and disseminating nutrition behavior change communication,
information, and education and communication materials.
vii) Implementing nutrition health programmes and collecting, compiling nutrition and
dietetics data
Requirements for appointment
i) Bachelor degree in any of the following disciplines, foods, nutrition and dietetics,
dietetics/clinical nutrition, food science and nutrition or home economics from a
recognized institution
ii) Registration by the Counsel of the Institute of Nutrition and Dieticians [CIND]
iii) Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized Institution.
3. RADIOGRAPHER III, JOB GROUP ‘H’ (5 Posts) V/NO 073/2015

Duties and Responsibilities
An officer at this level will work under the supervision and guidance of an experienced
Officer. Specific duties will include:
i) Providing radiographic services to the patients; processing, verifying and maintaining
information relating to patients;
ii) Ordering and maintaining records of radiographic and photographic supplies.
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:i) Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade C (plain) with grade
C (plain) in English/Kiswahili, Biology/Biological Sciences or Physics/Physical
Sciences and C- in Mathematics; and
ii) Diploma in any of the following: Diagnostic Radiography/Medical Imaging Sciences,
Ultrasound, Computerized Tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging,
Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, Radiation Therapy and Digital Medical imaging
equipment or its equivalent from a recognized Institution
4. COMMUNITY HEALTH ASSISTANT III, JOB GROUP ‘G’ (25 Posts) V/NO 074/2015
Basic Salary Scale: Kshs. 16,692 x 835 – 17,527 x 876 – 18,403 x 920 – 19,323 x 966 –
20,289 x 1,015 – 21,304 p.m.
Duties and Responsibility

Duties and responsibilities at this level will include:
i) Visiting homes to determine health situations and dialogue with household members;
ii) Identifying and sensitizing communities on health interventions;
iii) Identifying common ailments and minor injuries at community level;
iv) Collecting health data at household level for Analysis;
v) Distribution of Information Education Communication materials, mosquito nets and
other commodities to households;
vi) Identifying defaulters of health interventions and other health cases and referring
them to health facilities; and
vii) Maintaining and updating health data using health registers.
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:i) Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education
ii) Certificate in any of the following disciplines: Community Health,
Psychology, Counselling, Social Work or Community Development from a
recognized institution; and
iii) Certificate in Computer Application Skills from a recognized institution
5. ASSISTANT PUBLIC HEATH OFFICER-III, JOB GROUP 'H' (10 Posts) V/NO

Duties and Responsibilities
An officer at this level will provide Environmental Health Extension services in the area of
deployment, where specific duties and responsibilities will include:
i) Mobilizing, sensitizing and advising communities on matters related to environmental
health; Referring health cases to relevant health facilities;
ii) Carrying out immunization; identifying environmental health issues at Household
level;
iii) Organizing community health days to advise communities on common public health
issues; Collecting and maintaining up to date records of services rendered; and
iv) Assessing health needs of the community
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:
i) Diploma in Environmental Health Science or Public Health Technology from a
recognized institution;
ii) Certificate in Computer Applications Skills from a recognized institution
6. PUBLIC HEALTH OFFICER - JOB GROUP “K” (3 Posts) V/NO 076/2015

Duties and Responsibility
This will be entry and training grade into this cadre. An officer at this level will provide
Environmental Health Extension services in the area of deployment, where specific duties
and responsibilities will include:

iii) Assessing health needs of the community;
iv) Implementing sanitation and hygiene standards in the community;

vii) Implementing sanitation and hygiene standards in the community;
viii)
Sensitizing communities on food and water safety measures; and compiling
data on disease trends
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade a candidate must have:
i) Bachelors Degree in Environmental Health or Public Health from a recognized
Institution;
ii) Certificate of Competence from the Association of Public Health Officers; and
iii) Certificate in Computer Application Skills from a recognized institution.
7. HEALTH RECORDS AND INFORMATION MANAGEMENT ASSISTANT III, JG
'G' (3Posts) V/NO 077/2015
Basic Salary Scale: Kshs. 16,692 x 835 – 17,527 x 876 – 18,403 x 920 – 19,323 x 966 –
20,289 x 1,015 – 21,304 p.m.
This is the entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the
guidance of a more senior officer. Duties and responsibilities will entail:(i) Receiving and registering patients at hospital reception;
(ii) Booking appointment for patients to specialty and consultants clinics;
(iii)Storing and retrieving medical records and documents;
(iv) Preparing clinics;
(v) Updating bed bureaus;
(vi) Capturing data from service points;
(vii)
Maintaining record safety and confidentiality; and
(viii)
Directing patients to relevant clinics
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:(i) Certificate in Health Records and Information Technology from a recognized

8. PHARMACEUTICAL TECHNOLOGIST III J/G ‘H’ (15 Posts) V/NO 078/2015Basic

23,489 x 1,173 – 24,662 p.m.
Duties and responsibilities

The specific duties will be to oversee service delivery in the following areas, among others.
(i) Dispensing and compounding medicine.
(ii) Verifying and maintaining information relating to medication issued to patient.
(iii)Ordering and recording pharmaceutical and other supplies.
(iv) Guiding and counseling pharmaceutical technologist intern and;
(v) Supervision of other staff working under him or her
(vi) Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Requirements for appointment
(i) Be a holder a diploma in pharmacy or pharmaceutical technology from a recognized
medical institution
(ii) Must have a valid registration license by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board in
Pharmaceutical Technology
(iii) At least 2 years relevant work experience
(iv) Certificate in computer application Skills from a recognized institution.
9. MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNICIAN III J/G ‘H’ (10 POSTS) V/NO 079/2015

Requirements for appointment
(i) Diploma in medical laboratory sciences from a recognized training institution
(ii) At least two (2) years relevant work experience
(iii)Must have a valid registration license from KMLTTB
(iv) Certificate in computer application Skills from a recognized institution.
Duties and Responsibilities
(i) Discharge of laboratory investigative services to patients / clients.
(ii) Planning and budgeting for laboratory commodities.
(iii)Compiling and submitting laboratory reports.
(iv) Any other responsibility that may assigned by the supervisor.
10. MEDICAL ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGIST III JOB GROUP ‘H’ (3 POSTS) V/NO
080/2015

Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to the grade of Medical Engineering Technologist III, a candidate must
have:
(i) Be a holder of Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education Mean grade C and above
(ii) Be a holder of Diploma in Medical Engineering from KMTC or any other recognized
institution
(iii)Excellent communication skills
(iv) Be registered by the Association of Medical Engineering of Kenya.

(v) Must satisfy the requirement of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya
Duties and Responsibilities
(i) Determine specification for medical equipment for procurement
(ii) Processing, verifying and maintaining information relating to equipment
(iii)Determine equipment needs in the facility
(iv) Provide leadership, supervision of students in the clinical area
(v) Performing administrative duties
(vi) Safeguarding and ensuring maintenance of equipment and appliances
(vii)
Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time
11. KENYA REGISTERED COMMUNITY HEALTH NURSES III JG ‘H’ (15 Posts)

– 23,489 x 1,173 – 24,662 p.m.
Duties and Responsibility
Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:
(i) Assessing patients and clients and establishing health care needs;
(ii) Planning and implementing nursing care interventions based on patients' clients'
health needs; providing appropriate.
(iii)Healthcare service, including immunization, ante-natal care, delivery, referring
patients and clients appropriately;
(iv) Evaluating healthcare outcomes on patients/clients preparing individual reports;
(v) Making appropriate discharge plan for patients;
(vi) Conducting assessment of school health needs; planning, implementing interventions
and preparing periodic reports;
(vii)
Maintaining records on patients/clients personal and health condition/care;
(viii)
Ensuring a tidy and safe clinical environment;
(ix) Ensuring safe custody for in-patients belongings;
(x) Conducting home visits, following up discharged patients/clients and providing
continuity of care; and treating minor ailments.
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
(i) Diploma in Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing from KMTC or or any
other recognized institution
(ii) Be registered by the Nursing Council Of Kenya
(iii)Valid practicing license from Nursing Council of Kenya, and
(iv) Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution
12. SENIOR CLINICAL OFFICER (ENT) SPECIALIST, JOB GROUP ‘L’ (1 POST)
V/NO 082/2015
Basic Salary Scale: Kshs. 35,910 x 1,800 – 37,710 x 1,890 – 39,600 x 1,990 – 41,590 x
2,070 – 43,360 x 2,220 – 45,880 p.m.

Duties and Responsibilities:
(i) Carryout history taking, examination, diagnosing, treating and managing diseases and
conditions in an outpatient and inpatient Health facility.
(ii) Carryout specialized clinical services on Ear, Nose and Throat/Audiology.
Requirements for Appointment:
(i) Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery or Clinical Medicine and Community
Health with a Higher National Diploma in ENT/Audiology from a recognized
institution.
(ii) Must work with this specialty for at least 3 years
(iii)Must have a certificate of Registration from Clinical Officers Council.
(iv) Must obtain a certificate of good conduct.
13. OFFICE ADMINISTRATION ASSISTANT III, JOB GROUP ‘G’ (6 Posts) V/NO

Duties and Responsibilities
(i) Typing from manuscripts;
(ii) Processing data, operating office equipment;
(iii)Ensuring security of office equipment, documents and records;
(iv) Attending to visitors/clients, handling telephone calls and appointments, and
undertaking other secretarial duties that may be assigned.
The officer may be required to work for more than one officer or may be deployed in a
typing pool.
Requirements for Appointment
(i) Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education mean grade C- (minus) with at least C
(Plain) in English Language or its equivalent qualification from a recognized
Institution;
(ii) The following qualifications from the Kenya National Examinations Council:a) Typewriting II (minimum 40 w.p.m)/Computerized Document Processing
