Horsham Food & Drink Festival:
5th September – 4th October
Don't miss this year's month-long, action-packed celebration of the very best in tasty, healthy
and seasonal local produce that Horsham and District has to offer. This year's event
promises to be the biggest yet, with more businesses than ever recognising the value of
using local produce. The Festival starts on Saturday, 5 September, and with so many
attractions including beer festivals, harvest fairs and guided tours of gardens you'll find it
hard to resist taking part. There are farmers' markets in abundance and dozens of
restaurants, cafes and hotels are adding some extra sparkle to their menus.

Glynde Food Festival, Glynde Place
19th & 20th September
To help you fully enjoy you late summer feasting we have invited a host of the finest food
producers and vintners in the Sussex and the South East. Visit the Food & Drink marquee to
discover the many and varied producers on your doorstep. The English Wine Festival is now
in its 35th year and is the longest running wine festival in the country. Visit the Wine
marquee to meet the producers and find out why so many people are buying English wine.
The Food Terrace is the perfect place to sit down, listen to live music, and enjoy a crepe with
your glass of wine. Hot food from Sussex's best producers and cream teas are served with
panoramic views of the Weald.
Master Chef demonstrations, Amanda Grant's children's kitchen, and more. Come and join

Hastings Seafood & wine Festival:
19th & 20th September
Now in its 4th year, this festival is a celebration of Hastings' sustainable, twice MSC certified
fishery, vineyards and other producers from within a 30 mile radius of the town. Winner of
the 'Flavour of the South East' category in Tourism South East's Tourism Excellence Awards
2008. 50,000 visitors come from all parts of the UK and abroad to taste succulent dishes
from over 50 food stalls, where local chefs cook up a storm in a bewildering range of styles.
Sample award-winning wines from the local area in tutored wine-tastings, and get plenty of
ideas to try out at home from out food demos. Musical entertainment from the cream of the
local music scene, and relax with a coffee and a pastry in the Jazz Breakfast on Sunday
morning. With loads to keep the children entertained, walks and talks on the one thousand
year history of Hastings' fishing fleet, and local fishermen doing net-making demonstrations,
there's plenty for everyone to enjoy - miss it and miss out!

Forage for Food at Bateman’s:

Take a walk with the Bateman's Warden and discover the plants, nuts and berries growing
on the Bateman's estate. Many of these were commonly eaten by our ancestors but are
less well-known by later generations. A fun lesson in how to survive the wild!

The Big Nibble, Horsham:
26th September
Take a bite - The Big Nibble is back! Last year saw the return of the legendary Big Nibble, a
one day event that puts the spotlight on delicious, healthy and seasonal produce.
The Big Nibble is the most anticipated event in the Festival calendar and this year takes
place in Horsham's town centre (Drill Hall, Denne Road and The Carfax) on Saturday, 26
September, from 10am.
Visitors can be tempted by unbelievable display of home-baked bread, free-range local
meat, chutney and pickles, Sussex cheeses, gluggable Sussex wine, award-winning Sussex
beer, local fruit and vegetables and much more. The beer trail will allow sampling of local
ales in many of the town centre's pubs! Many local shops, restaurants and cafes will have
some great offers and award-winning chefs will be cooking up delicious dishes using local
ingredients.
