RESEARCH EXPERIENCE September 1998- September 1999 Research Assistant California School of Professional Psychology, Fresno Sue Ammen, Ph.D. Description: From September to December 1998, I lead a 10- week group for adolescent mothers and their babies that had previously been designed by other students; I revised the curriculum to enhance its effectiveness, and administered the pre- and post group evaluations. This group curriculum has been featured in workshops and in a play therapy textbook, and has been implemented in Early Head Start Programs. From January to May 1999, I facilitated a 10- week pilot group for adolescent mothers, which focused on their early family experiences and the resulting influence on their parenting style and attachment relationship with their child. I designed the curriculum and outcome measures for this group, and implemented these accordingly. In September, 1999, I assisted in designing a toddler version of the parent/infant curriculum and helped teach Ph.D. students how to implement the classes effectively. October 1999- May 2000 I designed a fourth group curriculum, which helps pregnant adolescents bond with their infant during the prenatal period in order to improve the future parent/child attachment relationship and their parenting skills. January 1998- June 1998 Research Assistant California School of Professional Psychology, Fresno Sue Ammen, Ph.D. Description: Expanded a computer data base regarding available literature on parent/child relationships, attachment issues, and infant mental health, which is utilized by students and faculty at CSPP. WORKSHOPS/ TRAININGS I have attended well over 500 hours of training in theories and techniques appropriate for counseling children, adolescents, parents, and families. In 1998, 1999, and 2000, I served as a student coordinator at the 8-day Play Therapy Institute training program in Monterey, CA. I continue to take the required courses in areas such as law and ethics as part of my MFT license. I also complete a MFT supervisor course every two years. In 2004 and 2005, I completed 40 hours of training in the area of conducting child custody evaluations.
