DIRECTIONS TO THE SHOW – Leave the M5 Motorway at Junction 4. Take the A491 towards STOURBRIDGE. At roundabout (approx 1 mile) turn left for FAIRFIELD. Pass the shops on your right, church on left, and take the first turn on the right (mini island) into Bournheath Road, leading to Brook Road. At the end of Brook Road, turn right into Dordale Road. Follow the signs when you reach Little Royal Farm. FROM THE WEST – Head for Junction 4 of the M5 Motorway. This will bring you onto the A491 dual carriageway. At the end of the dual carriageway you will come to a roundabout (about 1 mile from Junction 4 of the M5). Take the 3rd exit off roundabout towards FAIRFIELD, then follow directions underlined above. PAY ON THE DAY, TIME & WEATHER PERMITTING Please note – Dogs entered in more than 4 classes + YKC Team on Saturday, and 4 classes on Sunday will be removed from the Jumping classes. – No refunds will be paid. CLASSIFICATION FOR ENTRIES STARTER For owners, handlers and dogs who have not won a first place in any Agility or Jumping Classes at a Licensed Agility Show (Elementary excepted) INTERMEDIATE Open to all, except dogs eligible for Elementary or Starters. MINIS Open to all dogs 15” or less at the shoulder MIDIS Open to all dogs exceeding 15”, but not 17” at the shoulder. JUNIOR For handlers under 12 years, and 12 years and over, but under 18 years on day of Show,. OPEN Open to all POWER & SPEED – Open to all Standard dogs. Dogs must complete the untimed agility section clear before they can participate in the jumping section of this Class, this jumping section will be timed. 24/7 ANY SIZE JUMPING – Open to dogs not entered in any other class on the day. RULES AND REGULATIONS Dogs entered at Kennel Club licensed Agility Shows must be registered at the Kennel Club in accordance with Kennel Club Regulations for Classification and Registration B. The Registration Number/Authority to Compete Number will be required for each entry. From 1 January 2001 the registration will be required on each entry (see Note 28). ENTRY FEES - £2.00 per dog per class, £10.00 per YKC Team. Helping DATS’ members £1.00 per class. Prize money – not applicable. The Committee reserves to itself the right to refuse entries. Puppies under 18 calendar months of age on the first day of the Show are not eligible for Kennel Club licensed Agility Tests. Not for competition entries will be accepted for dogs aged four calendar months and over. Dogs must be Kennel Club registered with their details recorded on the entry form. The mating of bitches within the precincts of the Show is forbidden. No bitch in season is allowed to compete. No person shall carry out punitive correction or harsh handling of a dog at any time within the boundaries of the Show, the same applies to the car park, exercise area and camping area. Dogs must not wear any type of slip, half-slip collar or lead when under test. A flat, close fitting, leather or webbing collar is permitted, providing the only attachment is a plain identification panel as an integral part of the collar, ie not attached by a ring. Should a judge be unable to fulfil the appointment to judge, the Committee reserves the right to appoint another judge. No competitor shall impugn the decision of the judge or judges. It is the handlers’ responsibility to report to their class in good time to compete in the order allocated to them. The latest time up to which they will be able to compete will be at the judge’s discretion. Standard Marking will apply, as per Kennel Club Regs H & H(1). Heights of jumps, Standard 30”, Midi 20”, Mini 15”, Any size jumping, 15”. Competition for small dogs (minis) Mini dogs to measure 1’ 3” (38.1 cm) or under at the withers. Competition for small dogs (midis) Midi dogs to measure over 1’ 3” (38.1 cm) and under 1’ 5” (43.2 cm) at the withers. A judge at any Agility Test cannot compete or enter a dog at that event. Withdrawal of dogs from Test. A dog shall be withdrawn from competition, and removed from the Test if it is:(a) A bitch in season. (b) Suffering from any infection or contagious disease. (c) Interfering with the safety or chance of winning of an opponent. (d) Of such temperament or is so much out of hand as to be a danger to the safety of any person or other animal. (e) Likely to cause suffering to the dog if it continues competing. In estimating the number of awards won, all wins up to and including 7 days before 11 July 2005 shall be counted when entering for any class. It is the competitor’s responsibility to be available for their class and running order. Handlers working more than one dog in a class must ensure that the dogs compete in the sequence in which they are drawn. Failure to do so may result in elimination. Dogs may enter four classes. Should circumstances so dictate, the Society, in consultation with the Judges, may alter arrangements as necessary. Such changes and the circumstances surrounding them must be reported to the Kennel Club. All dogs at the time of entry for the Competition, must be registered by the Kennel Club Rules and Regulations in the competitor’s name (or registration or transfer applied for). In the case of a partnership the full name of every partner must be given. In the case of dogs recorded as owned by a limited company, the directors and the secretary of the limited company will jointly be considered for the purpose of the Regulations. A dog acquired subsequent to entry, having been entered at a competition, may compete as the new owner’s property, provided that an application for the transfer has been forwarded to the Kennel Club before the competition, and the new owner has undertaken to abide by the Regulations and conditions of the original entry form. Any change of handler must be entered on competition slip before run. No animal other than one officially entered shall be brought into the precincts of the event during its continuance, except a registered guide dog for the blind or a hearing dog for the deaf, or dogs required for educational or instructional purposes or by permission of the General Committee. All dogs resident outside the UK must be issued with a Kennel Club Authority to Compete number before any entry to the show can be made. All overseas entries without an Authority to Compete number will be returned to the competitor. No competitor shall abuse, verbally or otherwise, any helper at this show. No washing out of toilets will be allowed until after 4.00 pm on the last day of this show. Any cheque returned by the bank will be passed back to the drawer, and will incur charges. All persons and dogs entered in the show do so at their and their owner’s risk, and whilst every care will be taken, the Committee and the owners of the ground will not accept any responsibility for loss, damage or injury, however caused, to persons, dogs or property. In the event of circumstances making it necessary to cancel the show, DATS reserve the right to defray expenses incurred by deducting such expenses from entry fees received. Health Warning – Please do not leave dog poo bags around the show site, camping area, exercise area, car park (especially near your cars and units). Please deposit in bags provided. Parents are reminded that they are responsible for the behaviour and good conduct of their children. No unsupervised minors will be allowed on site. No more than 2 dogs per handler off lead at any time in exercise area. Remedial action will be taken in the event of dogs left in cars, etc, being found in a distressed condition. THE AGILITY CLUB – STARTERS AGILITY CHALLENGE 2005/2006 RULES Eligibility for the Agility Competition will be as per the Kennel Club Regulations H for Starters in force at the time of the event. The competition must be judged under the appropriate Kennel Club Regulations H in force at the time of the event. Competitors entering the competition will be deemed to have agreed to abide by these rules and regulations. Competitors may enter more than one dog in a Heat, but may only qualify one dog for the Final. Each Heat is open to all eligible Starters, but only “Agility Club” members at the time of the Heat can qualify for the Final. Qualifiers may enter further Heats for competition providing they are eligible. Handlers who gain a place in a Heat with a previously qualified dog should inform the show secretary on the day of the show of this fact. The competition for the 2006 Final will consist of at least 10 and a maximum of 15 Heats, with the first 2 Agility Club members from each Heat going through to the Final. RULES AND REGULATIONS YKC TEAM AGILITY (FINAL TO BE HELD AT CRUFTS 2006) 1. Teams must represent a KC club or group of clubs. All teams should consist of 5 dogs handled by 5 separate members. For the first year only all 5 handlers may be from different clubs. 2. Handlers may compete in more than one team from the same club/s but must handle a different dog in each team. Once a handler has qualified, he/she may not compete for a different team for the same year. 3. Handlers must be YKC members. They may handle any KC registered dog, providing that another person is not handling the dog at Crufts. 4. Handlers must be between 6-17 years on the day of competition. ONE team member may be between 1825 years. 5. A team may consist of mixed height dogs, each dog to compete over standard height equipment for its classification. 6. Six heats will be held at selected agility shows with wide geographical coverage. 7. The first team from each heat will qualify, giving a final involving 30 dogs. 8. In the event of only one team entering a heat, that team will run in the heat and, providing that no more than two dogs are eliminated, will qualify. 9. The course, set by the Judge, will contain at least 2 pieces of contact equipment. Each dog will be individually timed (not relay), standard marking will apply, and should elimination occur, scoring will continue with 50 faults for each elimination added to the final score. The combined score/time of the best 4 out of 5 dogs in the team will decide the result. 10. A Judge may alter the running order of the dogs within a team, depending on the height mix. 11. Once a team has qualified the dogs and handlers should remain as per the entry form. Special permission to substitute will be required in writing from the YKC.
