City of Dallas Article IV - SEC. 7-3.2 SANITARY CONDITIONS; MAINTENANCE OF PREMISES. NOTICE OF COMPLAINT Dallas Animal Services has received a complaint concerning a possible violation at your address. If the complaint is unfounded, please disregard this notice. To ensure you are in compliance with the City Ordinance you must ensure that you are within the legal limitation according to Chapter 7, Sec. 7 – 3.2. A person found guilty of such a violation is subject to a fine ranging from $150 to $2000. Please be aware in accordance with the City of Dallas Code, Chapter 7, Sec. 7 – 3.2. An owner of an animal commits an offense if he fails to: (1) keep any cage, pen, enclosure, or other area in which the animal is kept in a sanitary condition; or (2) remove all animal excreta from the cage, pen, enclosure, or other area in which the animal is kept as often as necessary to maintain a healthy environment. (b) A person commits an offense if he permits any yard, ground, premises, or structure belonging to, controlled by, or occupied by him to become nauseating, foul, offensive, or injurious to the public health or unpleasant and disagreeable to adjacent residents or persons due to the accumulation of animal excreta. (Ord. 26024) If the Dallas Animal Services receives a second complaint regarding this particular complaint this will result in an onsite investigation. If a violation is observed by the investigating Officer this will result in the issuance of citations, impoundment of the animal(s) or both.
