ORGANIZER Organizing Committee of the FALDO SERIES ASIA INDONESIA CHAMPIONSHIP (“FSA INDONESIA”) 2. VENUE Damai Indah Golf, Pantai Indah Kapuk Course 3. DATES February 9 - 10, 2009 4. ELIGIBILITY The Championship is open to all golfers of Indonesian nationality who are born in 1987 or later (i.e. under 21 years of age at the start of the calender year) 5. SIZE OF FIELD The field shall be limited participants. The Organizing Committee has the right to finalize the number of golfers to play in this tournament. 6. FORMAT Individual Event: The individual competition will be conducted over the following age groups: Boys Division: Group Class U21 Class U18 Class U16 Age Born 1987 - 1989 Born 1990 - 1991 Born 1992 - 1996 H’cap Limit 5 or lower 7 or lower 9 or lower H’cap Index max. 4.2 max. 5.8 max. 7.3 Girls Division: Group Class U21 Class U16 Age Born 1987 - 1991 Born 1992 - 1996 H’cap Limit 8 or lower 10 or lower H’cap Index max. 6.9 max. 8.5 Note: If the number of entries is less than 5 in any of the above groups, the Organizing Committee may, at its absolute discretion, combine the players to play in any other group or groups. 7. MANNER OF PLAY 36 holes gross stroke play competition for all age class 8. TEES Boys Classes: Blue tees, 6.533 yards, Slope Rating 146 Girls Classes: White tees, 6.084 yards, Slope Rating 138 9. AWARDS Trophies will be awarded to: a. Overall trophy for best gross score, regardless of gender or age class b. Gold medal for the gross winners of each age class, Boys and Girls* c. Silver medal for the gross runners-up of each age class, Boys and Girls d. All participants will be given Certificates of Participation in recognition of being part of an elite group of golfers *The five gold medalists will receive an invitation to the 2009 Faldo Series Asia grand final, to be hosted by Nick Faldo at Mission Hills Golf Club in Shenzhen, China on March 25 – 27 2009. Further details will be provided. 10. TIES Ties for first place will be settled by a sudden death play-off. All players shall be eligible to participate in the play off. All minor placings shall be decided based on a count back system as follows: a. Last 9 holes, if a tie still persists, then b. Last 6 holes, if a tie still persists, then c. Last 3 holes, if a tie still persists, then d. Hole 18 e. If a tie still persists, then the preceding 18 holes, 9 holes, 6 holes, 3 holes in that order. 11. OFFICIAL PRACTICE ROUND Players are entitled to one free practice round on Sunday, 8 February 2009, at PANTAI INDAH KAPUK Course. Practice round before that date will be subject to payment of Green Fees. This does not apply to Members of Damai Indah Golf & Country Club. Players may practice at the driving range upon payment on his/her account. 13. RULES OF GOLF The Championship will be played in accordance with the Rules of Golf approved by The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews and with the Local Rules approved by the Organizing Committee. Disputes, if any, will be settled by the Organizing Committee, and a decision made by the Organizing Committee will be final. 14. CADDIES Players must use official caddies assigned by the host club 15. DRIVING CLUBS The driver the player carries must have a clubhead identified by model and loft, that is named on the current List of Conforming Driver Heads issued by The R&A. PENALTY FOR BREACH OF CONDITION : DISQUALIFICATION 16. GOLF BALLS The ball the player uses must be named on the current list of Conforming Balls issued by The R & A. Golfers must use a specific type and brand of golf ball throughout each day of tournament rounds (one ball rule). PENALTY FOR BREACH OF CONDITION : DISQUALIFICATION 17. TIME OF STARTING Note under rule 6-3 and optional conditions as prescribed in Appendix I shall be in effect. If the players arrives at the starting point, ready to play, within five minutes after his starting time, the absence of circumstance which warrant waiving the penalty of disqualification as provided in Rule 33-7, the penalty for failure to start on time is two strokes. Penalty for lateness beyond five minutes is disqualification. 18. MOTORISED CARS Unless otherwise permitted by the Committee, players shall not use automotive transportation during a stipulated round. 19. OTHERS a. Play will commence every day starting at 06.30 am. Tee times and pairings will be posted on the announcement board at the Club House and will be distributed to all players at Pantai Indah Kapuk Course. b. Player must report to the starter 30 minutes before his/her starting time and should arrive at the starting point 10 minutes before his/her starting time. Rule 33-7 will be applied for a breach to this Rule. If a player arrives at the starting tee, ready to play, within five minutes after the starting time of his/her group, the penalty for the failrule to start on time is 2 strokes, to be added to the score of the first hole, instead of disqualification. c. A penalty of disqualification will be imposed to any player for improper behaviors, such as swearing or throwing golf clubs. d. When the situation requires, the Organizing Committee will assign a marker to players in any age groups. e. All players are prohibited from smoking and consuming alcoholic drinks in and around the golf club. PENALTY FOR BREACH OF CONDITION 17.e : DISQUALIFICATION f. The use of mobile phones is strictly prohibited during the competition rounds. PENALTY FOR BREACH OF CONDITION 17.f : DISQUALIFICATION g. Players may neither ask for advice nor receive advice from anyone. In order to eliminate any possibility of doubt, spectators are asked to remain at least 25 yards away from player at all times.
