Last week my advisor wrote me an email telling me there were grant funds for students in science and engineering PhD programs. I decided I would apply for the grant, basing my proposal on the distributed computer network problem we are investigating. When I gave the proposal to my advisor to look over, she told me that she thought I was using the wrong argument for changing the existing model. I then saw the inherent flaw in my thesis and reworked my argument. Next time I will not make the same mistake.

In this era of globalization, and with increased concern about U.S. international relations, universities are looking toward providing more cross-cultural experiences for their students. Three areas have been targeted to increase the internationalization of universities in the U.S. College administrators and faculty are working to provide more courses on foreign countries, more foreign language courses, and more study abroad opportunities.
