HE/SHE IS ON THE MARKET AND THE SELLER AGREES OR NOT TO THE FINAL PRICE ACHIEVED BY THE
AUCTIONEER JUST BEFORE THE FALL OF THE HAMMER.
BVD - All animals at Society run sales must be tested and certified BVD virus free.
Testicle Measurements – All bulls must meet the following minimum criteria for testicle size. (Bulls
not meeting the minimum criteria will NOT be allowed into the show & sale).
Less than 13 months on day of sale – 30cm / Less than 15 months on day of sale – 31cm
Less then 17 months on day of sale – 32cm / 17 months and over on day of sale – 33cm

IRISH CHAROLAIS CATTLE SOCIETY, IRISH FARM CENTRE, BLUEBELL, DUBLIN 12.
CLOSING DATE FOR COMPLETED ENTRIES IS STRICTLY AS STATED ON REVERSE OF ENTRY FORM.
All pregnant females must be veterinary certified in-calf within one week of the sale date.
The Charolais Society and the Mart do not accept any responsibility for injury or loss of any animal at the
Show and Sale. The Society has an Insurance Scheme where by sellers are indemnified against the Bull
Fertility guarantee printed in the Sale catalogue. The rate is approx. 6% of the selling price. All bulls
entered in the Sale automatically come under this Insurance Scheme and the cost of the premium to cover
your bull will be deducted from your sale cheque.
By entering this animal into the Sale, I accept and abide by the Sale Rules of the Irish Charolais Cattle
Society Ltd., and confirm that I know of no reason why this animal could be infertile.

Eligible Animals for Elphin Unhaltered Sale:- Females born prior to 31st December 2013.
- All animals must pass inspection. For all sales, other than the Christmas Cracker and Premier, this
inspection will take place on arrival at the mart (for Christmas Cracker and Premier sales, this
inspection will be held at various centres around the country).
Eligible Animals for Tullamore and Ennis Shows & Sales:- Males born from 12 to 20 months of age.
- All animals must pass inspection. For all sales, other than the Christmas Cracker and Premier, this
inspection will take place on arrival at the mart (for Christmas Cracker and Premier sales, this
inspection will be held at various centres around the country).
- Unhaltered animals will not be allowed into this Society Show and Sale.
Eligible Animals for Carrick-on-Shannon Show & Sale: - Males born from 1st May 2013 – 30th November 2013.
- Females born between 10th December 2011 - 10th December 2013
(heifers 30 months and over must be certified in-calf)
- All animals must be DNA typed for sire verification. Hair samples will be taken by the Inspector at
time of inspection - (from animals not already DNA typed). Cost of DNA is €20. Animals failing sire
verification, even though they may have passed inspection will not be allowed into the sale.
- All animals must have a valid export test which is in date up to a minimum of 3 working days
following sale.
- All animals must be Linear Scored and Weighed within correct age range (250 to 350 days of
birth).
- All entries will be pre-inspected at various centres prior to sale date. A Certificate of Compliance is
required to bring animals to inspection venues.
- All bulls must meet the minimum weigh for age.
- Entry fee is €50.00. If an animal fails inspection €35.00 of this fee will be refunded.
- Unhaltered animals will not be allowed into this Society Show and Sale.
By entering an animal into the Carrick sale you are agreeing to accept the decision of the Society’s official
Inspector as to whether or not your animal(s) is/are suitable for this particular show/sale. You are also
agreeing and acknowledging that he/she will be subject to a very strict inspection by the Society’s official
Inspector and the official Inspector’s decision will be final.
Sale entries can be faxed to the office if you pay your fees by direct debit. Fax number 01- 4080640.
The herd book certificate must be forwarded to the office for any faxed entries.
We do not accept late entries or entries over the telephone.
Closing date for each sale is strictly as stated above.
All exhibitors must wear a clean white coat in the show and sales rings.
