HRT 3M1- World Religions HRT 3M1- World Religions Early Religions: Student Learning Tutorials STAGE 1 1. Students will break into 6 groups and focus on ONE of the following early religions: a) Zoroastrianism b) Jainism c) Taoism d) Confucianism e) Shinto f) Aboriginal Spirituality 2. Each group member will create a Photo Story that focuses on at least ONE or more aspects (depending how you split topics up) of the following information: place of origin / timeframe founder or key figures key beliefs key practices, rituals or ceremonies symbols / images # of adherents in the world / influence in the 21 st century Religious significance other interesting facts STAGE 2 1. Groups members will create and present a PowerPoint or Smart Notebook presentation that contains the same information as above for an oral presentation. All presentations must be submitted to the Moodle TIPS: presentations should contain key words, facts and images. Don’t overload your slides with text. Group members should explain the concepts, not read pages of notes or read off slides. STAGE 3 1. Groups will create an original “game” or “game show” (could be a combination of various game shows and celebrity guests) for class to participate in as a review of your religion. This is the interactive part so make sure get everyone involved! Prizes can be used as well… 2. Wrap up your presentation with a brief discussion with class. Be prepared to answer questions!!! Presentations should be a maximum of 20 minutes! STAGE 4 Each group will create a 15 question Multiple Choice quiz in the Moodle on their religion for the class to study from.
