The MCEC’s 2012 Call for Presenters
Military Child Education Coalition’s Annual National Training Seminar
June 27-28, 2012
Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center
Grapevine, TX
DEADLINE FOR PROPOSALS: Friday, February 3, 2012
The Military Child Education Coalition (MCEC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, worldwide
organization. A model of positive leadership and advocacy, the MCEC’s work is focused on
ensuring quality educational opportunities for all military children affected by mobility,
family separation, and transition. The MCEC seeks to include all military installations, their
supporting schools, concerned organizations, and caring individuals in their mission.
The MCEC’s mission is to ensure quality educational experiences for all military children.
You are invited to submit your proposal to be a concurrent session presenter for the
MCEC 2012 Annual National Training SeminarMilitary Kids: Shining from Sea to Sea
This theme can be interpreted many ways and the Conference Committee will consider
presentation proposals (individuals or teams) for a concurrent session on any topic of interest to
the MCEC audience. However, preference will be given to sessions focusing on one of the
categories of presentation themes listed below. Selected proposals will move beyond entry-level
awareness and should offer the audience innovative ideas, active hands-on learning, and share
critical information pertinent to the duties of educators and military personnel who are in the
business of serving the mobile military child.
Note: For the 2012 Annual National Training Seminar, the Military Child Education Coalition will offer
Continuing Education Credits to our attendees. The MCEC is an authorized provider for the
International Association for Continuing Education Training (IACET), the National Board of Certified
Counselors (NBCC), as well as several state agencies. These multiple avenues of accreditation make the
recognition of MCEC Continuing Education Credits (CEUs) acceptable to nearly all school districts. If
your presentation proposal is accepted, the MCEC may need for you to provide additional professional
resume documentation in support of this accreditation.
