Office Use Only (Home) RUK / Scottish / EU (circle as appropriate) Overseas Date/Signature Fee Status Enquiry Form The University of Dundee, in common with other Scottish universities, charges tuition fees at a different rate to students classified as ‘overseas’ or ‘rest of the UK’ (domiciled in England, Wales, Northern Ireland or British Overseas Territories) for fee purposes than to those classified as ‘home’ (domiciled in Scotland or a non-UK EU country) fee students. DEFINITION Eligibility for home or rest of UK fee status depends on the student meeting all of the following immigration and residence conditions. The ‘relevant date’ is the 1 January, 1 April or 1 September closest to the start date of the student’s university course. Conditions: 1 SETTLED STATUS S/he is ‘settled’ in the UK on the relevant date. Settled means ordinarily resident and free of immigration controls (as defined by the Immigration Act 1971). 2 ORDINARY RESIDENCE S/he has been ‘ordinarily resident’ in the UK and Islands for the 3-year period before the relevant date, apart from any temporary absences. 3 MAIN PURPOSE S/he was not at any time during that period resident in the UK and Islands wholly or mainly for the purpose of receiving full-time education. Certain categories of students who do not meet all of the conditions described above may still be charged at ‘home’, ‘rest of UK’ or EU fee rates. These categories are briefly summarised at the end of this form (Note 1).
