FGI scholarship could be of assistance.
Each year FGI awards scholarships—
undergraduate or graduate.
This year FGI will award four $2,000 scholarships.
Scholarship applications and requirements are available

Scholarship Program
The Fashion Group International, Minneapolis/St. Paul Chapter provides a scholarship
program for students in fashion related majors or programs, who demonstrate both
academic and leadership qualities and show the potential for a successful career in the
fashion industry. This scholarship program is supported by the mission of the Fashion
Group International Foundation that states in part:
“To foster international understanding and broaden world-wide the scope and
impact of fashion studies, by promoting educational programs devoted to
fashion . . . and to inspire a keener interest in the fashion industries by providing
scholarships . . . for the field of fashion.”
The Minneapolis/St. Paul Chapter received a gift from Fashion Group International
member, Ruth Shipley to establish a scholarship fund that is currently supported by a
generous gift from Target Corporation.
Scholarship Criteria:

Undergraduate or graduate student in good academic standing in a fashion related
program or major (3.0 grade point average or above).

Demonstrated leadership qualities.

Goals that include a career in fashion such as sales, marketing, merchandising,
promotion, public relations, design, or production.
Application process:
Applications are available with criteria and deadlines. A scholarship committee will meet
to review the applications and choose the recipient(s). The application requires two
letters of support (one must be from a faculty member), an expression of financial need,
a current transcript, and a personal statement.
