Application for Membership
NGS is a university-wide endeavour aimed at spearheading world-class trans-disciplinary graduate
education and research in science, engineering and related aspects of medicine. The top-quality
students enrolled in NGS are supervised by leading staff from NUS, the Research Institutes and
Industry.






Appoints passionate and energetic faculty members of international caliber from within
NUS the Research Institutes (RIs) and Industry.
Develops internationally-benchmarked doctoral programs.
Recruits talented and motivated students.
Facilitates access to world-class research facilities.
Is advised by an international advisory board from top notch overseas graduate schools.
Criteria for Membership





An enthusiasm for the aims of NGS.
International distinction in research, preferably of an integrated nature.
Good track record of student supervisions.
Time and willingness to mentor and supervise research students.
Time to participate in NGS activities, including curriculum design, student recruitment,
innovative coursework, and mentoring younger NGS members.
Membership of NGS is for three (3) years in the first instance and is then reviewed.
Application Procedure
NGS invites applications from qualified individuals. The applications will be reviewed by an NGS
Membership Committee consisting of current senior members of NGS.
The application must be made on the attached Application Form through the Head and the Dean.
