The joint meeting of Mayo Clinics with
Central Clinics will be held on 29 September
in Baku
The joint meeting of Mayo Clinics, one of US leading health institutions with Central
Clinics will be held on 29th Day of September in Baku organized by Cardiovascular
Association of Azerbaijan in Baku.
The main goal of the meeting includes discussion of the latest novelties in the field of cardiology
and cardiovascular surgery and widening of cooperation relations between these clinics.
The well-known specialists of Mayo Clinics – Professor and Doctor on surgeon Richard Daly
and Professor Varghese Mathew, director of angiography service will join this meeting.
According to Dr. Kamran Musayev, chairman of Azerbaijan Cardiovascular Association, head
physician of Central Clinical Hospital, all specialists employed by cardiology and cardiovascular
surgery of the state owned and private clinical hospital of the country may participate in the
meeting organized jointly with Mayo Clinics.
Dr. Kamran Musayev said that “Azerbaijan Cardiovascular Surgery Association celebrates the
world heart day in our country organized by the World Heart Federation within several years on
higher level. Today we decided to organize a joint meeting with participation of Mayo Clinics,
one of the world leading health institutions and Central Clinics. Negotiations held with Mayo
Clinics have already reached their positive result. These joint events are organized all over the
world regularly. This event will promote widening of cooperation between the both clinics and at
the same time will enable the local experts to enjoy the novelties of new technologies”.
It is to be remembered that the World Heart Day celebrated each year coincides with 29th Day of
September. In this connection, Azerbaijan Cardiovascular Surgeon Association will organize
some events. The joint meeting with US Mayo Clinics, one of these events will be held namely
on September 29 in Baku in Hilton Hotel.
World Heart Day celebrated in Azerbaijan
The World Heart Federation fights against heart diseases all over the world with the joint
efforts of heart associations and foundations carrying out their activity in more than 100
countries of the world. In this connection, the last Saturday of September of each year is
celebrated as the Day of Heart.
The “World Heart Day” organized this year under the slogan of “Only World, Only House and
Only Heart” coincided with September 29. The Cardiovascular Surgeon Association of
Azerbaijan organizes each year a range events in the separate regions and in Baku within several
years. The international conference “I work with my heart” dedicated to the World Heart Day,
special actions organized in the shopping centres, cardiologic examinations of inhabitants of
kindergartens and so on are events organized within the last years.
There will be organized some other events this year in this connection. The educating leaflet
drawn up by the World Heart Federation was translated into Azerbaijani and distributed in
various regions of the city. The actions held on September 28 through 30 in Metro Park and Park
Boulevard roused great interest of citizens. The population has been informed about the
significance of the slogan “Only World, only House and only Heart”; there were distributed
educating booklets drawn up by the World Heart Federation in connection with the “World Heart
Day”; the physicians have measured blood pressures and amount of sugar in blood of people free
of charge. At the same time, the physicians of the Central Clinic Hospital and the members of
Azerbaijan Cardiovascular Surgeon Association provided recommendations about protection
against cardiovascular diseases. In general more than 1000 people passed cardiovascular
examination, they were provided with comprehensive information about the “World Heart Day”.
On September 29, there was a joint conference of Mayo clinics one of the world well-known
health institutions and the Central Clinics in Baku, Hilton Hotel organized by Azerbaijan
Cardiovascular Surgeon Association. The main purpose of the event included the discussion of
the last news in the field of cardiovascular diseases and widening relations between the
countries. The well-known specialists of Mayo Clinics – Professor and Doctor on surgeon
Richard Daly and Professor Varghese Mathew, director of angiography service will join this
meeting.
The very actual problems were discussed in the conference joined by experts employed by
cardiology and cardiovascular surgeon field of all state and private clinics in Azerbaijan. In the
meeting conducted under the conditions of live discussions, the importance of the “World Heart
Day” has been stressed once again.
