Enterprise: Statistics and Surveys: is seeking proposals to enhance its efforts to support analytic and
methodological research in support of its surveys, and to engage in the education and training of researchers
in the use of large-scale nationally representative datasets. NCSES welcomes efforts by the research
community to use NCSES data for research on the science and technology enterprise, to develop improved
survey methodologies for NCSES surveys, to create and improve indicators of S&T activities and resources,
and strengthen methodologies to analyze and disseminate S&T statistical data. Applications are due June 6,

on Children, Youth and Families; Child Welfare - Education System Collaborations to Increase Educational
Stability: is seeking applications for collaborative initiatives among state, local, or tribal child welfare
agencies and education systems to improve educational stability and permanency outcomes for middle- to
high-school aged children in the child welfare system. Projects are encouraged to leverage linkages with
other major initiatives aimed at cross-agency systems change in child welfare, education, and related
systems, such as courts, juvenile justice, substance abuse, mental health, and domestic violence.

Treatment of Drug, Alcohol, and Tobacco Abuse: is seeking applications for health services research leading
to improvements in the quality of drug, tobacco, and alcohol prevention, treatment, and recovery support
services. Health services research forms the link between research to develop behavioral and
pharmacological interventions and the adoption of these as evidence-based practice.
Health services research may focus on underlying processes and mechanisms that contribute to the efficacy,
effectiveness, and sustainability of interventions, and in domains such as accessibility, utilization,
effectiveness, appropriateness, and costs of services. How prevention, treatment, and recovery support
services are organized, managed, delivered, and financed also affects the type and quality of those services
and the outcomes they produce. R01 applications are due February 5, June 5, and October 5 annually. R21
