In the event that you are selected in a Hornsby Softball Representative Team, please be
advised of the following conditions:

I will travel with the team when required;
I will be accommodated with the team;
I will attend all compulsory training sessions;
I will discharge all financial commitments by the due date;
I will hire and/or purchase all team and training uniform apparel as required and wear it to all
designated trainings or games as per HDSA requirements;
I will make all requests or declarations only through the Team Manager;
I will complete and lodge the medical declaration promptly and accurately and will advise of
any changes, injuries or illnesses during the Rep Team season to the Team Manager;
I will adhere to the rules and curfew set at Representative events;
I will be available to play at Tournaments, Divisional and State events;
During Representative events I will stay with the team at all times unless discharged by either
the Team Coach or Manager;
Minor variations to the above conditions to accommodate special circumstances will be decided
by the HDSA Representative Sub-Committee;
The consumption of alcohol, cigarettes or any prohibited drug by any player under the age of
18 years will not be tolerated under any circumstances;
Any player whilst a Representative player who acts in a manner which brings discredit to the
Team or HDSA and/or who doesn’t abide by the HDSA Code of Conduct will be expelled from
that Team. The Association President and/or HDSA Representative Sub-Committee will deal
with such misdemeanour;
I will assist HDSA in the development of Softball through Junior Player programs and
competition Umpire commitments
I, the undersigned, have read and had the above conditions explained to me and agree to
abide to these conditions as a Representative Player for HDSA and acknowledge that I may
be removed from the Team by the Team Management if I do not meet these conditions.

Hornsby Softball Player Code of Conduct
As a Representative Player participating in any activity held by or under the auspices of
Softball Australia or a Member State you must meet the following requirements in regard to
your conduct during any such activity or event:
1.
Be a positive role model for Softball at all times, and accept responsibility for your
actions.
2.
Participate within the competition conditions and rules, and in the spirit of fair play.
3.
Respect all players and officials and treat them with proper regard for their rights,
obligations and position held in Softball or the community.
4.
Refrain from offensive or abusive language and gestures.
5.
Accept victory and defeat with dignity.
6.
Comply with Umpires’ decisions in a professional manner.
7.
Respect and comply with any instructions or directions made by the Team Coach or
Team Manager regarding the execution of the game or player conduct during an event.
8.
Maintain high standards of personal hygiene, appearance and healthy diet.
9.
Cooperate with all official requests to promote and market Softball in a professional
manner.
10.
Behave with dignity and respect when in public.
11.
Refrain from making sexist or racist jokes, jokes about a particular sexual orientation, or
jokes about an athlete, coach’s or other participant’s ability.
12.
Refrain from making derogatory or demeaning remarks about any athletes, coaches or
participants.
13.
Refrain from using profane, insulting, harassing or otherwise offensive language.
14.
Refrain from making sexual innuendoes towards any athletes, coaches or participants.
15.
Do not tolerate acts of aggression.
16.
Players should, at all times, avoid intimate relationships with team officials or players.
17.
Perform any duties and responsibilities where you are a representative of the Australian
Softball Federation in a mature, fair and professional manner.
18.
Refrain from engaging in any behaviour as listed under the definitions of harassment,
outlined in the Australian Softball Federation’s Anti – Harassment Policy.
