Technology that is Emerging How it can be used in the Public, Private and non-profit sectors All sectors can use Quantum Dot Display to add colour purity to their displays and companies that use screens (PC, Mobiles) can make the mobiles have longer lives which will put them ahead of there competitors which will for a time give them control of the market giving them a large amount of control. Lumalive is an emerging technology that mashes electronics and fabrics (LED lighting in clothes) this could boost the people in any sector by drawing attraction to their clothes (therefore to them and their sales pitch). It will also bring large amounts of money and opportunities to the Fashion and clothes shops in the private sector. Nano technology can be helpful to all sectors including the gardening people (in any sector) who can now use nanotubes to be a super fertiliser which can help the plant grow up to twice as fast! Whilst in the public sector at the health section a new emerging technology called nanoparticals that are able to make small decisions about whether to release their contents, this offers the prospect of delivering drugs when they are needed to the correct place and perhaps in the end can be an anti-cancer drug. Meanwhile every sector would want to get the emerging new idea about colour changing nanotechnology that can create documents that wipe themselves clean after they have been read. Just like everyone would benefit from a new idea (especially the charity sector) where you can shove electrodes into trees and then harvest electricity (which is becoming a better idea) so that if it works forests can power there own sensor networks to monitor the health of the ecosystem or be an early warning system. At the moment we can use a card to get into a certain rooms by use of a laser that scans the barcode and releases the door. What would be a good idea (and is being worked on) is a kind of chip in your forehead or other part where when you approach the door you are scanned and if you have it the door will open. There is also variations of the idea like programming a timing device in to make sure that people cannot open it any time of the night and day and other things like a built in alarm if the chip is not found for high security measures. Perhaps different types of chips could indicate a different type of security pass or a different access schedule. Or perhaps go a different way and have foolproof voice recognition where it monitors every little detail in the voice somehow combined with finger prints and weight (or height) recognition. For the public sector the medicinal people may soon be able to save a large amount of space by using DNA origami which can create a minuscule medicine cabinet that can deliver drugs which can be opened with DNA ‘keys’. One day the might be able to fill them with drugs, injected into the blood and then unlocked when and where the new drugs are available. Also a new one for everyone (including environmentalists) is a technology that can convert fossil fuels into clean fuel using a catalyst of toxic metal irons. Hospitals need to create some sort of device that can block outside signals from their equipment after the discovery that RFID can switch of ventilators, reprogram pacemakers and reset intravenous drips (amongst other things). Meanwhile RFID can also be a disaster for everyone else as well using worms to infect the tags that they use (which admittedly does open up a market for anti-viruses for RFID tags. Perhaps controlled by a main computer that can control all the chips in a person’s possession for the outside.) This can apparently send it through ID cards, pets and products which can make them all spread the malicious code until it gets back in contact with a bug able piece of equipment. This code an also be put in cattle and people! This could even potentially help the bugger to bypass physical security measures by swapping over identification codes. Which may seem vaguely harmless but it could provide smugglers and terrorists with the means to send suspicious luggage. Some form of VOIP could be transferred into some kind of hologram to make it seem like the hologram is talking (kind of like the Jedi Council when the meet up) and can be used to add a face to the person you are talking to, whilst not having to use a video phone or something so that you can be with the person whilst being all the way across the world. The could also use it to advance video conferencing in such a way that you can be in the same meeting room but are actually at different corners of the globe, whereas now any video conference is fully aware of how far they are away. This would be a brilliant sales tool as lots of families like too far from each other to meet up regularly and as nice as a phone call is it is not the same as if they were standing there. This also goes into virtual reality and can also be helpful in the public sector because you can get a doctor that’s not really there and they can see what’s wrong with you without meeting up in the hospital or in your house. Another idea is to use magnetic holds that can connect to the iron in the blood and hold someone in place or somehow be used to lift people up. Perhaps a magnetic pulse or field that can simulate flying which may also be faster than a lift so they just have to click the button to change the magnets polarity and then they fly up to where the second magnet is, there would have to be lasers so that the first one doesn’t hit the second one. Perhaps some kind of laser that could solidify when it contact witch a certain spot so that it could keep the two magnets apart.
