Two day “active” program for those, who want to see and know as
much as possible( but with shorter visits to the museums)
During this two day program you will get to know:
-the history of St Petersburg and its founder Peter the Great
- The Romanovs dynasty(facts and anecdotes)
- St Petersburg as the cultural capital of Russia and Soviet Union
- St Petersburg – city of 3 revolutions.
-Soviet Regime: Lenin and Stalin
- Gorbachev: “the father” of perestroika
-Modern life in Russia and St Petersburg: housing, educational system,
health care system, family life- don’t hesitate to ask any questions

What is important: you go by hydrofoil to Petergof , first of all it is very enjoyable, secondlyyou do not spend time in traffic- jams, it is a big time-saver in St.Peterburg!
Between Petergof and Pushkin you will see summer cottages ( datchas) of locals
On the way back to the city from summer residence you will see residential areas

Day 1
7.30-8.00am Meeting by the ship( depending on your ship’s arrival and as
soon as you clear the customs)
City tour in St Petersburg
City tour includes driving and foto stops in the most beautiful, historical places in St
Petersburg. St Nicholas Cathedral or Choral Synagogue
Your guide will tell you different stories and legends about famous palaces and
architectural ensembles. You will see: Nevsky prospect( the main street in St Petersburg) ,
National Library, Kazan Cathedral, the Square of Arts, Russian Museum, Ethnographical
Museum, Michael’s Castle, Summer Gardens of Peter the Great, the log cabin of Peter the
Great, Aurora Battleship, the Spit of Basil Island, The State St Petersburg University, the
Monument of Peter the Great, Admiralty, Theatre Square with famous Mariinsky Theatre,
10:00-10.30am Travel to Petergof by hydrofoil
10.30-12.00pm Guided Visit of the Fountain Park
one of the small palaces in the lower garden(Catherine block or Bathblock or
Monplaisir)- (optional)
Peterhof , "RussianVersailles" — is a jewel of the Russian art, a town of parks, palaces and
fountains which is very often compared with French Versailles. But don't believe those who
states this: our Petergoff is much better!!
12.00-1.00pm Lunch (optional)
1.00-2.00 pm Travel to Tsars Village
2.00-3:30pm Inside Guided Tour of the Catherine Palace with Amber Room
Catherine palace (with famous Amber Room) a former country residence of Russian emperors — is
a fascinating monument of the world's architectural and gardening arts of the 18–19 centuries. The
compositional centre of the Tsarskoselsky ensemble is Catherine's Palace with its world — famous
Amber Room.
3.30-5.00 pm Driving back to the city with the visit to the subway station
5-5:30pm Inside Guided Tour of St Isaac cathedral
St Isaac Cathedral is the third tallest cupola construction in the world. It's cupola served as a model
for White House in Washington. This cathedral is richly decorated inside and out with different
kinds of marble and mosaics
6pm Return to the ship or evening optional program( theatre/ folk show/boat
trip)
Day 2
8am Meeting by the ship
Visit of the Farmer’s market. Shopping
10.00-10.30 am St Peter and Paul Fortress Inside Guided Tour of
St.Peter&Paul Cathedral("Peter and Paul fortress" - is the birth place of St Petersburg. All
Russian tsars and tsarinas since Peter the Great up to Nicholas II are buried in Peter and Paul Cathedral
on the territory of the fortress .Be sure you will hear the story about one of the last tsar’s daughtersAnastasia Romanova and much, much more…),
11.00-11.30 am Inside guided Excursion at the Church on the Spilt Blood (The
church of "Our Saviour on the Spilt Blood" — designed in the style of 15–16 centuries Moscow and
Yaroslavl churches and famous for its wonderful mosaics which cover more than 7000 square meters of
inner space. The church was erected on the place of assassination (on the 1st of March in 1881) of
Russian tsar Alexander II)
11.30-12.00 pm Lunch (optional) for example in Pirogi café
Stolle" - the best pie café in the city. These pies (aromatic, ruddy,
juicy, shining, warm and soft) quickly conquered the city. First
visitors compared them with grandmother’s pies but a bit later they
stopped referring to grandmothers and just took them as models.
The widest choice of fillings is during summer when to traditional
fish, meat, chicken and cottage cheese they add wild berries. We
drop there with every of our tourists just to have a bite during
excursions - believe us everybody is very pleased!!!
12.30-2.30 pm Inside guided tour of the the Hermitage Museum
The state Hermitage is one of the oldest and largest museums in the world. The buildings of the museum,
by themselves, are architectural masterpieces. The collections of the Hermitage number over 3 million
items from prehistoric to modern times. Magnificent works of art embracing prehistoric culture, Egyptian art,
the art of Antiquity, Scythian gold, and great collections of Western-European paintings and sculptures are
displayed in 400 halls of museum. If you want to see every piece of art and will spend in front of each only
1minute it will take you 9 years!!! Don't forget to visit special "Golden" and "Brilliant" rooms- you have to buy
special tickets to get there and excursions to the rooms are available on certain hours only. We can help
you to discover the treasures of the Hermitage with a great pleasure
3.00-4.30pm Inside guided tour of the Yusupov palace
The palace went down in Russian history as the place where the mysterious Grigory Rasputin
was assassinated, a Siberian peasant who became the spiritual mentor and friend of Nicholas II
and the Royal Family in the early 20th century.
5 pm Return to the ship
Please note, that the sequence of the tour can be changed by your guide
because of the traffic and museums days-off

If you travel with children under 7 years old, you don’t have to pay for them-the
tour for them will be free of charge
Children/Students over 7 years old receive discount of $40 US for the tour.
