Objectives: The students will identify and make generalizations, use generalizations to
predict, use context clues to determine word meaning, review the parts of a telephone
directory, and conduct an online search to find phone numbers of people and businesses.
Friday:
8:00-8:30
Whole Group Instruction
 Discuss Skill: Generalize and Strategy: Predict on p. 412.
 Read and discuss “CP” on p. 413, discussing skill and strategy.
 Complete WB p. 163 WG.
Monday:
8:00-8:30
Whole Group Instruction
 Review “Words to Know” and complete Vocabulary Strategy for
Unfamiliar Words on p. 414.
 Discuss with students how to use the strategy :context clues
 Put page 41 from comprehension mini lessons book on ELMO, this goes
through the correct steps of how to use context clues effectively
 Then put page 40 up on the ELMO, see if the kids can use the steps to
figure out the meaning of webert and locloey, by using a different colored
sticky note for each
 Students complete WB p. 164 independently.
 Begin reading story with trifold
8:30-9:00
Small Group Instruction
 Toolkit on inner conversations
 8:30-8:45: Group 1: Richard, Ben, Isaiah, Emry, Melanie, Maurice
 Leveled readers using inner conversations
 8:45-9:00: Group 2: Jared, Josh, Olivia, Doan, Jamal, Chanel
 Others will be working on vocabulary cards, reading rate passages, and
silent reading
Tuesday:
8:00-8:30
Whole Group Instruction
 Review with students how to use the strategy :context clues
 Review page 41 from comprehension mini lessons book on ELMO, this
goes through the correct steps of how to use context clues effectively
 Then put page 40 up on the ELMO, see if the kids can use the steps to
figure out the meaning of pytusul and packrock, by using a different
colored sticky note for each




Continue reading the story with a partner while working on the trifold

goes through the correct steps of how to use context clues effectively
 Then have the students complete page 42 using context clues to answer the
questions.

 Discuss using your inner conversation voice

 Finish Toolkit on inner conversation with passages, discuss and notice
