The tests you are required to take for English and mathematics classes are printed on your official Notice of Admission, the label on your EPT/ELM Information Bulletin , and/or on your registration access mailer. If you believe that you are exempt from the EPT and/or the ELM, check the appropriate exemption below. Please attach copies of documentation, such as test scores or transcripts, which may support your claim for exemption. You will be notified only if your exemption is not granted.

SAT Reasoning Test
– A score of 500 or above on the critical reading section of the College Board SAT Reasoning Test.
ACT – A score of 22 or above on the American College Testing (ACT) English Test.
AP
– A score of 3 or above on either the Language & Composition or Composition & Literature examination of the College Board
Scholastic Advanced Placement Program.
College Course – Completion & transfer to CSU of the credits for a college course that satisfies the CSU General Education requirement in English Composition, provided such a course was completed with a grade of C or better.
EAP English Status – A score of “Ready for CSU or participating CCC college-level English courses” or “Exempt” on the CSU
Early Assessment Program (EAP) taken along with the English Language Arts California Standards Test (CST) in grade 11.
EAP English Status – A score of “Ready for CSU or participating CCC college-level English courses - Conditional” or
“Conditional” on the CSU Early Assessment Program (EAP) taken in grade 11, provided successful completion of the Expository
Reading and Writing Course (ERWC), AP English, IB English or an English course approved for extra honors weight on the
University of California “a-g” Doorways course list.
SAT Reasoning Test
– A score of 550 or above on the mathematics section of the College Board SAT Reasoning Test.
SAT Subject Test – A score of 550 or above on a College Board SAT Subject Test in Mathematics (level 1 or level 2)
ACT
– A score of 23 or above on the American College Testing (ACT) Mathematics Test.
AP – A score of 3 or above on the College Board Advanced Placement Calculus AB or Calculus BC exam.
AP
– A score of 3 or above on the College Board Advanced Placement Statistics examination.
College Course - Completion & transfer to CSU of a college course that satisfies the requirement in Quantitative Reasoning, provided such a course was completed with a grade of C or better.
EAP Math Status -
A score of “Ready for CSU or participating CCC college-level Mathematics courses” or “Exempt” on the CSU
Early Assessment Program (EAP), taken in grade 11 in conjunction with the California Standards Test (CST) in Summative High
School Mathematics or Algebra II.
EAP Math Status – A score of “Ready for CSU or participating CCC college-level Mathematics courses - Conditional” or
“Conditional” on the CSU Early Assessment Program (EAP) taken in grade 11 along with the California Standards Test (CST) in
Summative High School Mathematics or Algebra II, provided successful completion of a CSU-approved 12 th grade math course that require Algebra II as a prerequisite.
