Clarification of Goals
The General-research track of the MS program is best suited for those who wish to
pursue professions related to research and/or pursue additional graduate education at the
completion of the degree.
Program of Study
A minimum of 30 credit hours are needed to graduate. Note that no more than 6 credits
obtained from another graduate program prior to your acceptance to the Division of
Educational Psychology may be transferred in. Prior approval of transfer credits must be
obtained from the division director.

C. Special Research Project:
Within the 30 credits, the student should complete a special data-based research project.
This may be satisfied by the completion of EPSY 680 (Research Project in Educational
Psychology) listed above. Students can also fulfill this requirement by taking EPSY 697
(Independent Study in Educational Psychology), or EPSY 699 (Masters Thesis), if 697 or
699 are equivalent in scope and content to the special project of EPSY 680 and with the
prior consent of the division. Note that a statistics course, a measurement course, and
IRB certification must be gained before taking EPSY 680, or EPSY 697 for this purpose.
