Attention Junior & Seniors- If you are going to prom and bringing a student from another school please sign
your guest up in the office and pick up a guest dance verification form. The forms are due back in the office by
Wednesday, April 18th. If you are bringing an Orion student that is an underclassman please sign them up in
the office on the underclassman sign-up sheet.
STRIKE OUT CANCER SHIRTS-If you ordered a T-shirt, you need to pay for it by Thursday.
If they are not paid for beforehand they will not deliver it.
Attention Big Brother Big Sister - We will not be going to CR Hanna this week for Big Brother
Big Sister. We will start meeting with the littles next week on Wednesday, April 18th.
Attention Prom Court: Prom Court Pictures will be scheduled for April 12th with the Orion Gazette.
Attention all students: The fall Festival Run Committee has extended the deadline for all race t-shirt designs
to this Friday. Remember the winner receives a $25.00 Visa gift card! Please pick-up forms in the office!
Attention Juniors & Seniors - If you are attending prom there will be an Admission fee of $5.00 per person.
Attention Juniors & Seniors - The After Prom Committee would like your input...Please stop in the
office today and give us some auction prize ideas.
JV Scholastic bowl. If you have not turned in your scholastic bowl polo please return them as soon as possible
to Mr. Holmes.
Attention Seniors: Did you attend TLC Preschool for at least one year? You should apply for their
scholarship!! Due to Ms. Nolan by April 20th. Award is $250. Pick up an application in the office.
Local Scholarship: The $1000 Deanne Zurcher Memorial Award will be given to a senior boy or girl who is
furthering their education in a health or fitness related field. Any senior interested in applying should pick up
an application in the office. The completed applications are due on Friday, April 20.
Students: Henceforth all detentions will be assigned on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school regardless of sports
practices or work schedules. That means no more mornings or lunches. Failure to serve a detention will result in an
automatic in-school suspension as stated in the handbook.
White Sox Tickets: Sox Student Achievers Program is an initiative program that recognizes and rewards students. Tickets are
available for a $3 handling fee for students to a White Sox Game. Information in the office. There are six games to choose from.
You will receive upper reserved seat locations but may upgrade. Forms are in the office if you are interested in ordering tickets
2012 Miss Henry County Fair Queen Pageant will be held on Tuesday, June 19, 2012. They are looking for applicants,
must be between ages of 16-21, reside in Henry County. Jr. Miss Henry County applicants must be between ages 12 and
14 by June 19, 2012 to apply. Applications are in the office. If any questions contact Kelli Patton at

COUNSELOR’S CORNER:
Neff Motivation Inc. has been helping educators motivate, celebrate, and commemorate scholastic achievement for over 60
years and now invites high school seniors to apply for the Neff Achievers Scholarship. Those eligible to apply for the $1000
scholarship include any high school senior in the United States who is considering a post-secondary education at an accredited College
or University. Applicants may apply on-line at www.neffco.com/neffachievers/
This is a reminder to parents interested in helping at the After Prom event Saturday, April 21st. You are
required to attend at least 2 meetings and we only have 2 meetings left. The dates of the next meeting is
Thursday, April 12th @ 6:00pm in the OHS Library.
-Mississippi Valley Chapter of ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers) Scholarship:
Deadline: April 27, 2012. Must plan to study Mechanical Engineering or HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning).

Henry County Right to Life: Deadline: April 17, 2012. $500 Award. Applicant must be Pro-Life and have a GPA of 2.5 or better.
See Ms. Nolan for more information.
Bishop Hill Arts Council Olaf Krans Scholarship: Deadline: April 30, 2012. Must be planning a degree in the arts; literature,
poetry, music, dance, drama, or any visual arts. Award is $500. See Ms. Nolan for an application.
SIUE Balanced Man Scholarship: Deadline: June 1, 2011. Award is $1,000. Applicant should plan to attend Southern Illinois
University Edwardsville and excel in scholarship, leadership, athletics, and community service. See Ms. Nolan for more
information.
Iowa PGA Section Charlie Burkart Scholarship Application: Deadline is June 15, 2012. $1,000 award given for four years (total
$4,000). Applicants should show an interest and activity in golf and have potential for future contributions to the game. See Ms.
Nolan for an application.
Cobham Scholarship: Deadline: July 31, 2012. $2,000 per year. Must be a member of a minority group (female and/or racial or
ethnic), be enrolled in a technical degree program, and have a GPA of 3.0 or better. See Ms. Nolan for an application.
