Because of both difficulty and the importance of collocations, set phrases, phrasal verbs and idioms direct instruction and practice is advocated. Course requirements: Students will attend class regularly and do homework assignments. The final exam will be a written test covering the topics, collocations, phrasal verbs and idioms studied during the semester. Provisional programme: 1. Introduction to vocabulary learning.
