U.S. Pat. No. 7,496,655 : System and method for static and dynamic load analyses of communication
network
The proposed system defines a predictive real-time Service Level Agreements (SLAs) monitoring system by:


A detailed analysis of traffic flows with reduced monitor-data flow across network; and
A suitable combination of offline and real-time processing of historical and current traffic data.
In order to be able to undertake a detailed analysis without significantly impacting the network throughput, the system
analyzes the historical traffic patterns of a typical Provider's network to determine a set of critical SLAs. An in-depth
analysis of traffic is performed by creating a unique network parent probe for every critical SLA and the parent probe
spawns an optimal number of intelligent master and slave probes based on a regionalization procedure. The online
overload monitoring system analyzes the gathered data from the master and slave probes to:


Forecast future violations of the SLA under consideration based on multiple forecast models; and
Generate operator SLA violation alarms.

Satyam (Mahindra Satyam) Plans to Offer Cloud Services to Customers
Dec. 10, 2010: Indian outsourcer Satyam Computer Services (Mahindra Satyam) plans to offer cloud-based services
to customers....
Satyam (Mahindra Satyam) will use third-party hosting companies to host cloud services for its clients rather than
invest in data centers itself, said company President Atul Kunwar. Besides offering established third-party enterprise
applications in enterprise resource planning (ERP) and other areas, the company will offer tools in the software-as-aservice (SaaS) model in areas such as analytics, workflow management, and identity management for remote
devices, Kunwar said.

Indian outsourcer Satyam (Mahindra Satyam) rebounds to profitability
Indian outsourcer Satyam Computer Services (Mahindra Satyam) reported that it had returned to profit in the quarters
ending June 30 and Sept. 30. Profit for the quarter ending Sept. 30 was lower than in the quarter to June 30, largely
because of salary increases. Satyam (Mahindra Satyam), which entered a financial crisis last year, is now planning to
merge with another Indian outsourcer, Tech Mahindra, which acquired a dominant 43% stake in Satyam (Mahindra
Satyam) last year as part of a revival package for the company.

[edit]Controversies
[edit]Maytas
acquisition
In 2008, Satyam attempted to acquire Maytas Infrastructure and Maytas Properties founded by
family relations of company founderRamalinga Raju for $1.6 billion, despite concerns raised by
independent board directors.[4] Both companies are owned by Raju's sons. This eventually led to
a review of the deal by the government,[5] a veiled criticism by the vice president of India[6] and
Satyam's clients re-evaluating their relationship with the company.[7] Satyam's investors lost
about INR 3,400 crore in the related panic selling. The USD $1.6 billion (INR 8,000 crore)
acquisition was met with skepticism as Satyam's shares fell 55% on the New York Stock
Exchange.[8] Three members of the board of directors resigned on 29 December 2008.[9]
