Our Mission To keep toxic materials out of landfill sites and to divert other waste from landfill sites into alternate streams wherever feasible while keeping these important resources available for reuse within Canada. Partnerships Twenty-Twelve Electronics Recycling Inc. ( ) is part of the Ontario Electronic Stewardship program with three approved collection sites. For more information about the program, please see www.dowhatyouccan.ca. Company Profile is a privately-held, federally-incorporated company whose owners strongly believe that we, as a society, must take responsibility for our use of the earth's resources. We decided to stop talking and start doing something about the issue. The owners of discussed electronics recycling for several years; but the market wasn't ready. In November 2005, the market appeared ready, so we beat our heads against a wall trying to come up with a name and then incorporated and rented the space at 14 Bexley Place in December of 2005. The doors first opened on the Recycling Centre toward the end of January 2006. The company grew by 100% from year one to year two, and again in year three. We are continuing to grow and branch out into new things. On March 8, 2008, opened an Outlet Store to sell items that are not quite ready for the scrap heap. On May 10, 2008, we had the grand opening of our Recycling Centre at 121 Bruce Crescent in Carleton Place. On April 1, 2009, we opened our Recycling Centre at 42 James Street in Smiths Falls. On June 26, 2010, we closed the Carleton Place location to focus our efforts on building our presence in Ottawa. Lanark County will still be served by our Smiths Falls location. The name of the company came from a documentary called Ancient Prophecies, specifically, an episode dealing with the Ancient Maya and the prediction that the world will end on December 21, 2012. In the episode, electronic equipment rose up against its makers. At we recycle equipment so it won't be able to rise up. Of course, we also have a strange sense of humour.
