This application allows you to be considered for the Yvonne and James Condell Scholarship. Please read
the Required Documents section carefully. Scholarships are awarded as funds become available.
INFORMATION AND INSTRUCTIONS
The Condell Scholarship is a $3,000 annual award renewable for three years (based on academic performance).
The intent of this scholarship is to recruit academically bright students to MSUM.
Students must meet all of the following criteria:
 Applicant must be an admitted MSUM incoming freshman or transfer student seeking
their first undergraduate degree.
 Applicant is from a culturally diverse background and/or from an environment limiting
college preparation skills.
 Considered for selection will be students with high academic standing (high school rank,
GPA, and ACT scores) and academic accomplishments (awards, offices held and
school/community participation). Financial need will be taken into consideration.
 Applicant is a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

The following must be included with your application:
 Typed 250 to 300 word essay responding to the following questions:
1) What experiences and attributes do you bring to campus that will enrich the
MSUM environment?
2) What are your goals in life and how will an MSUM education benefit you in
attaining those goals?
 Please list:
a) community activity outside of high school/college
b) high school/college activities
c) work experience(s)
 Two letters of recommendation.

Talent Scholarships – Talent scholarships are available based on exceptional talent in the areas of art, music,
communication studies, film studies and theatre arts. Recipients of talent awards are selected by
department faculty. In order to apply for a talent award, please contact the following departments
directly for scholarship requirements:

Other Financial Aid:
Students who need more financial help than the scholarship award provides should contact the
Minnesota State University Moorhead Office of Scholarship and Financial Aid. The Office of
Scholarship and Financial Aid delivers over $50M of assistance to more than 85% of degree-seeking
students each year. Grants, loans and employment opportunities are available. These programs require
completion of the 2015-2016 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) which is available at
www.fafsa.gov. MSUM priority date for SEOG, Work Study, and Perkins Loans is February 15 of each
year.
