The candidate is an active adult member registered with Girl Scouts of the U.S.A. Examples of possible candidates for this award might include, but are not limited to: 2. The candidate has held two or more positions for at least two years. ■ Council committee member and special event coordinator. 3. The service performed by the candidate exceeds the expectations for the positions held and benefits one or more service units within the council jurisdiction and contributes to the council's goals and objectives. ■ Service unit manager and project coordinator. ■ Holding two positions on the service team. ■ Camp ranger and service team camping consultant. ■ Council nominating committee member and council committee event member/task group. ■ Leader/assistant leader and service team member. ■ Product sales coordinator and special event coordinator. 4. The candidate must be trained, if applicable, for the positions held. Nomination and Approval Procedures 1. An individual or group familiar with the service performed by the candidate completes the application form and submits it to the council's Recognition Committee. 2. Two individuals or groups familiar with the services performed by the candidate submit letters of endorsement with the application. Form of Recognition 5. The Recognition Committee reviews the application and letters of endorsement and will approve or reject the application. The committee notifies the sponsoring group or individuals of the committee’s decision. The Kit Hammett Award pin should be presented at a service unit or other appropriate meeting or ceremony with publicity throughout the council. The Kit Hammett pin is a gold tone frame with the words “Kit Hammett” and a red clover design used to identify the first troop Kit Hammett joined. SS:hk rev. 3/28/13
