Entry Information & Rules
 This show is certified by AOBA and all rules and guidelines will be in accordance with AOBA show rules.
All Exhibitors are responsible for reviewing the current AOBA Show Division Handbook.

Entry fee is $35 per alpaca for the Halter Show and $35 per Production Class entry. Both fees include
the $6 AOBA fee. The Halter Show Entry Form and ARI certificates(s) must be postmarked on or before
September 21st, 2012, or additional fees will apply.
 There is a limit of three entries per owner/farm/entity, per breed type, per gender, per age division, per
color designation, according to the 2012 AOBA Show Division Handbook.
 The halter show is restricted to exhibitors only. Alpacas entered in the halter show must be kept in farm
stalls all weekend.
 A copy of the Valid ARI Registration Certificate must accompany all entries. Alpacas with
pending registration will not be registered for the show. Incomplete entries will not be
processed. Deadline for entries is September 21st, 2012.
 Exhibitors are required by AOBA to provide a copy of the Veterinary Certificate of Inspection which
includes the alpaca’s name and microchip ID numbers and BVDV negative test results, with
testing method (PCR or VI) noted, for each alpaca present at the show to the show
superintendent as part of the show records. A copy of the Veterinary Certificate of Inspection must be
brought to compliance check, Friday, October 19th, to be retained by Show Superintendent. Original
copy of Veterinary Certificate of Inspection must be presented at Vet Check Friday, October
19th.
 ** AOBA BVDV Testing requirement: All alpacas entered in or present at all AOBA Certified
shows must be negative for BVDV by a PCR lab test and said negative results and testing
method shall be indicated on the Veterinary Certificate of Inspection. (VI completed prior to
1/1/10 will be accepted).
 All alpacas must be entered in the name of the owner as listed on the ARI Registration Certificate.
Animals that are in the process of being purchased, or certificates that have not been transferred, must
have an Owner of Record for Show Entry form (download at www.alpacashows.com), signed by the owner
that is listed on the ARI Registration Certificate.
 No animal substitutions will be allowed from the original Halter Show Entry Form, unless an animal
becomes ill and permission is obtained from the Halter Show Superintendent, Cheryl Tenold. Permission
must be obtained prior to October 10th. Additional fees apply. Cheryl@yumedono.com 406/529-1868
 There will be a mandatory exhibitor meeting on Saturday October 20th, at 8 am, in the Show Ring. All
exhibitors and handlers must attend this meeting for announcements.
 The Halter show will be held in one ring on Saturday October 20th and Sunday, October 21st. The show
will begin at 8:30 am on Saturday, and 8:00 am Sunday.
 Participants must have their entries ringside ten minutes prior to the class entering the show ring.
 Bred and Owned Yearling Class is a single entry of a full fleece yearling alpaca. An exhibitor may
enter one alpaca per breed type/gender. The alpaca shown must be from a dam that was owned by
the exhibitor at the time the dam was bred as evidenced on the ARI registration of the yearling. Yearling
must be eligible and entered in the show in their respective full fleece halter class.
 Breeders Best Group of Three Class is comprised of three alpacas that represent the highest quality
production from the breeder’s herd. All three of the alpacas are evaluated simultaneously in the ring and
a collective judgment is made on the group, which is based upon the individual excellence of each alpaca
within the group. Breeder’s Best Three must be eligible and entered in the show in their respective full
fleece halter class. Both genders may be represented. Any age may be represented. The alpacas that
comprise a group do not have to be related. All alpacas must have been bred by and presently owned by
the exhibitor as indicated on the registration certificate. Show entry is made in the name of the breeder
as shown on the ARI registration form. Limit one entry per breeder, per breed type.

positive traits to each progeny in a uniform and consistent manner. Alpacas of Get must be eligible and
entered in the show in their respective full fleece halter class. Both genders can be represented, but must
be from three different dams. Show entry is made in the name of the sire on the show entry form and
must be accompanied by a copy of the sire’s ARI Registration Certificate. Limit one entry per sire. The
sire is not shown. If the exhibitor is not the owner of the sire, that exhibitor must obtain the sire owner’s
written permission prior to the time of show entry. Entry is limited to three sire entries per owner.

these progeny are evaluated simultaneously in the ring and should represent their dam’s ability to
transmit her positive traits to each progeny in a uniform and consistent manner. Alpacas of Produce must
be eligible and entered in the show in their respective full fleece halter class. Both genders can be
represented. Show entry is made in the name of the dam on the show entry form and must be
