Tasks
1. Work in pairs. Help each other to learn the words and signs. (s. 4 – 5)
What do the words mean in Norwegian Sign Language (NSL) and in Norwegian?
Are any of the signs the same in BSL and NSL?
2. Play Bingo
Choose 9 words from page 1 and write them here:
Play bingo. Take it in turns to call out the words. Make sure you use the correct signs
too.
2. Talk to your friend:
What is your favourite season? Why?
What is your favourite weather? Why?
3. Make a story using the words and signs. Use lots of adjectives. Write you story or
tell your story to the class.
4. Useful Expressions:
Nice weather we are having !
It’s cold for this time of the year.
It’s muggy.
It’s raining cats and dogs.
It’s enough the freeze the tail off a brass monkey.
5. Play the memory game.
Cut out the BSL signs and the word cards.
Mix the cards up and turn them over. Spread the cards over the table.
Pick up 2 cards and try to match the words and signs. If you are right you keep the 2 cards.
