WORK VISA UNDER ESSENTIAL SKILLS TO APPLY FOR A WORK VISA UNDER ESSENTIAL SKILLS, YOU MUST SUPPLY: 1. Valid passport or a notarised birth certificate and identity card if you currently do not have a passport 2. A fully completed and signed of Work Visa Application Form (INZ 1015) and Supplementary Application Form (INZ 1027) 3. Two recent passport-sized photographs of your head and shoulder 4. A written offer of employment from New Zealand 5. An Employer Supplementary Form Work Visa Application (INZ 1113) completed by your New Zealand employer 6. Application fee 7. Evidence of funds 8. Health requirements, if applicable 9. Character requirements, if applicable HEALTH REQUIREMENTS 1. Applicants intend to be in New Zealand for more than six months, and not more than twelve months who are not from a low incidence TB country or who have spent more than three months in the past five years in a country not listed as a low incidence TB country must provide a completed X-Ray Certificate for Temporary Entry (INZ 1096). For full details and a list of low incidence TB countries please refer to the Health Requirements Leaflet (INZ 1121). 2. People intend to be in New Zealand for more than 12 months must provide a completed Medical and Chest X-ray Certificate (INZ 1007). All Medical and X-ray certificates and associated reports should be less than 3 months old at the time of lodgement, completed by any INZ Panel Doctor (A full list is available at INZ web site: www.immigration.govt.nz). Applicants who have previously completed X-ray Certificate for Temporary Entry (INZ 1096) or Medical and Chest X-ray Certificate (INZ 1007) which at the time of this application will be less than 24 months old may not be required to submit updated X-Ray Certificate for Temporary Entry (INZ 1096) or Medical and Chest X-ray Certificate (INZ 1007) unless requested to do so by an immigration officer. Pregnant women and children under the age of 11 are not required to have chest X-ray examination. CHARACTER REQUIREMENTS Applicants aged 17 or over who intend to be in New Zealand for more than 24 months, must include a notarised Chinese Police Clearance Certificate that is less than 6 months old at the time of lodgement. Please note that a police clearance certificate letter issued by an applicant's work unit, work unit security department, street office or talent centre is not acceptable. If police certificates were submitted with a previous application, they can be accepted for any further application for a temporary entry class visa made within 24 months of the date of issue of the police certificates. Please note that your application will be returned unprocessed if any item mentioned above is missing. Only the most up-to-date INZ form should be used. SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS 1. Your Identity Card and Temporary Resident Card if your passport’s was not issued in Guangdong, Guangxi or Hainan Provinces 2. Your Household Register (‘Hukou Bu’) 3. Notarized relationship certificate (with English translation), showing details of all immediate family members (parents, siblings, partner and children) including their full names, dates of birth and full residential addresses, regardless of their residence status or citizenship 4. A written offer of employment from New Zealand. This should include your position, job description, salary, working hours, length of employment contract and other relevant information 5. Copy of Approval In Principle letter (if applicable) 6. Evidence to prove your New Zealand employer has made genuine attempts to recruit suitable New Zealand citizens or residents 7. Evidence that you are suitably qualified by training and experience to do the work offered 8. Evidence of full or provisional registration, if that is required by law to take up the offer of employment (if applicable). NOTES 1. Immigration New Zealand reserves the right to request additional information in the course of assessing an application and to retain information and documents on file. 2. We will assess whether you are likely to be a genuine worker in New Zealand. Once a decision is made, there is no statutory right of appeal. 3. Notary certificates will be kept by the branch after the finalisation of your application. Notary certificates will only be returned if a copy of it is provide with the application. 4. The processing time will take approximately 30 days. Applications submitted without the required documents will take longer to process. We recommend you do not purchase an airline ticket before you obtain a visa. 6. If your visa has a travel condition of ‘First entry before’, you must arrive in New Zealand by that date. For a multiple entry visa holder, you can travel to New Zealand on or before the ‘Expiry date travel’ on your visa. If you are unable to arrive within the validity date of your visa, your work visa will not be extended and you must lodge a new application. 7. Please note that you must leave New Zealand before the expiry of your visa or face deportation from New Zealand. Postage fee: HKD100 is required unless you are prepared to collect your original documents and passport in person. Please note that fees are subject to change without prior notice. Payment methods: From 29 November 2010, Hong Kong Branch will no longer accept cash as a form of payment for application fees. Credit card payment is welcome. We only accept Visa or MasterCard. Please provide the credit card details including name of the cardholder, card number and the expiry date on the application form. Cheque payments should be made by international bank draft, be in Hong Kong currency, and be made payable to “New Zealand Consulate General”. We do not accept Post Office Money Order. It is important to note that lodging a New Zealand Visa application does not guarantee approval and the application fee is non refundable.
