to the
Scientific Conference
WISENT IN THE FORESTS OF PSZCZYNA – 150 YEARS
OF BREEDING
That will be held on 10-11 September 2015
We kindly ask you to meet the deadline for registration for the Conference, ie.
up to 30th April 2015. Keeping the deadline for applications is crucial for
logistical reasons.
Once we receive applications in the next message we will present a work program
of the Conference and size of traditional posters. We would like to remind you
that the time of the presentation of your report can’t exceed 15 minutes.
Conference Program
September 9th (Wednesday) is provided for arrival and ice-breaking
activities in the evening. On Thursday (10.09) sessions are planned in the
conference room of the Prince’s Stables in Pszczyna, Basztowa street 6-8,
and on Friday (11.09) continuation of the meeting in the same place and the
outdoor part of the Conference – visiting Wisent breeding center in
Pszczyna-Jankowice and the Wisent exhibition enclosure in the historical
Park of Pszczyna.
Shuttle from the hotel to the conference room will be provided by the hotel
– all the details in the next announcement.
We plan five sessions, one of which will be dedicated to Pszczyna Wisents,
the second one to health issues, other to practical aspects of captive
breeding and problems of free living populations.
After the Conference on September 12th, for the interested, we plan a visit
in a capercaillie (Tetrao urogallus) captive breeding and reintroduction
centerin Wisła. We remind you that the Conference participants will be
staying at the Hotel Imperium and “A Hotel” in double and triple rooms.
Getting to the “A Hotel” by minibus will be guaranteed.
Transfer from the airport (Pyrzowice or Balice) can be arranged by the hotel
– earlier declaration required (cost up to 400 PLN).

The participation fee
The conference fee for EBFS members is 350 PLN, for other participants
400 PLN. The fee includes:
- Conference materials
- Food service (supper on September 9th, whole service on 10th and 11th of
September)
- field trip to the breeding center in Pszczyna-Jankowice
Accommodation costs are covered separately and will amount approx. 120 PLN
per person per day (payable at the hotel). Transfer from the airport to the
hotel – up to 400 PLN.
