century and explains the importance of story telling to Traveller children.

and does a deal with the creatures there to gain the means to return home. This is
a spiral bound book available in A4 and A3 format that has colourful, cartoon style
illustrations on each page. The text under each picture is in large type and contains
vocabulary from the Yr 1-2 high frequency word list from the National Literacy
Strategy. A word bank of those words used is included at the back of the book.

a story set on a Traveller site about a family’s pet dog – Rauni. Shortly after Rauni
becomes pregnant she goes missing. She is soon found in a neighbouring horsebox with ten tiny puppies!
The text is written on two levels so that you can choose which is the most
appropriate level to read with your children. Some of the words are in the Romany
language, e.g. ‘jugle’ means ‘dog’; available as a small and large book.
