What is the Naramata Bench Wineries Association?
The Naramata Bench Wineries Association (NBWA) is a group of 24 wineries who are in close
proximity to one another in an area known as the Naramata Bench. In 2004 they formed an
Association to jointly promote their wines and their unique grape growing region.
Location:
The wineries and the Naramata Bench are located in the Southern Okanagan region of the
Province of British Columbia in Canada.
All 24 of the winery members of the Association are located along an 11 kilometre country road
that runs north from the town of Penticton along the eastern shore of Okanagan Lake with
stunning views of the lake, vineyards and mountains. The winey tour ends at the rural hamlet of
Naramata.
Getting to the Naramata Bench:
The nearest airports are in Penticton, which is right next to the Naramata Bench, and in the city of
Kelowna which is one hour north of Naramata and Penticton. Taxi, airport limousine service and
car rentals are available at both airports.
Naramata is a five hour drive (417 Kilometres) from Vancouver, British Columbia with a choice of
two different highway routes (Hwy 5 & 97C or Hwy 3 & 97)
Naramata is a nine hour drive (673 K) from Calgary, Alberta along Hwy 1 & 97 or an alternate
route through the Crowsnest Pass along Hwy 2A & 3 & 97 (936 K and 12 hours driving time).
Wine Production
Annual wine production for individual NBWA Member wineries runs from less than 2,000 cases
(24,000 bottles) to greater than 10,000 cases (120,000 bottles).

continue along the Naramata Road and you will discover our wineries and tasting rooms. Several
wineries offer gourmet restaurant lunches and dinners, light lunches, artisan foods for picnic
lunches, and appetizer platters to pair with your wine tasting. As well, some wineries have
accommodations to complete your wine holiday experience.
